This is a pitch we have made 440 and 481 on in the last twp years so im pretty confident of chasing 340 that they might get here plus we just did that a few times just before the world cup against them. I know its different in a world cup but the pakis bolwing is real thin.

Root 107 (104) and Buttler 103 (76) both make hundreds but Pakistan hold on and win by 14 runs!

Disappointing loss. We have smashed Pakistan in every game since 2015 bar the two most important ones. We were crap with the ball and in the field and left it to Jos & Joe with the bat. Pressure is on us to see how we respond now.

I'm a big fan of the 50 over format, I think it offers a bit of everything and is more strategic. You need a solid platform, preservation in the middle without being bogged down and wickets in the shed for the last 10 overs.

The bowling team also has a personal game going on too, being able to come back on in the 33rd over for a couple and be straight on the money is critical, as is using the correct bowlers at the correct times and not get carried away with the moment as the final few overs could be vital.

The game changes pretty often so new plans need to be implemented and executed, I liken it to chess with a timer.

Tests: Endurance and mental toughness.
T20's: Strength, accuracy and a lot of luck.

Worst i have seen an England side field in the limited over format for years however Woakes was outstanding in the field.

Was interesting to see the likes of Stokes and Archer letting the fielders know they weren't doing a good job yet the captain stood silent.

As much as hate to say it, reckon England just had one of those games, wont happen again until the final :D :D
