Given our reliance on the SANFL in the past surely it's something that would make everyone connected with football in South Australia happy, yes?

Absolutely.
Despite Port fans protests they are still a relatively small club in the grand scheme of things so they need to find alternative revenue streams. I do applaud that they are trying to stop being a burden and pay their way.

I've said it before and I've said it again. I applaud Port's China initiative but no matter how many times we send them to China the bastards keep coming back.

Geelong forward Tom Hawkins is free to play in Friday’s blockbuster against Richmond after escaping suspension.

Hawkins collected Sydney’s Jordan Dawson with his forearm during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game at GMHBA Stadium.

It follows three Gary Ablett striking incidents over four weeks, the latter of which saw him suspended for the first time in his illustrious career.

Match Review Officer Michael Christian graded the incident as careless, low impact and high contact. It resulted in Hawkins being fined $5000, which can be reduced to $3000 with an early offence.

Hawthorn defender James Sicily came under scrutiny for Christian, following his strike on Brisbane’s Lincoln McCarthy. The Hawk was fined $2000.

Western Bulldogs young gun Aaron Naughton was also fined $2000 after striking West Coast defender Will Schofield.

Collingwood’s Adam Treloar was the other player cited by the MRO, with the midfielder hit with a $1500 fine for striking Reece Conca.

Sicily got off?
That’s ridiculous.
Not a lot in it but it was off the ball so deserves a week.

He was down on the boundary so was only meters away and he was 60 points down with 10 minutes to play.

Having said that, I get the feeling he holds him such high regard that he would have done the same if he was 10 points up in the first quarter.

Quality move from Richo I think.

I'm sure most coach's would've with that performance.

I know his injury was unrelated but he shouldn't have played IMO.

It's hard to fathom doctors clearing him fit to play. The scar looked like it could pop open after a long hot shower.

I agree Booney. I have the exact same scar but on my stomach and that took well over a month heal on the outside let alone the damage it caused on the inside.

Agreed. How stiff is Geary the poor bastard. Well done Richo. Shows he cares about the players.

Not sure on "stiff", it was pretty dumb to play when he could have two more weeks off for the price of one to let himself heal, it was only a few weeks ago his leg wasn't even attached to his body, it was bloody crazy, I wonder if it psychologically played a part in the leg break, it didn't look like Rozee played a part in it, his tackle was fine and it looked as though he caused the injury himself, perhaps taking smaller steps?

Gibbs held him to 9 poss in the 2nd half after he had 25 in the first half with no tag.
Most pundits thought Gibbs won the battle with him when moved onto him

Dropped?
Something smells fishy.
