Watched most of the 2nd half, very much bruise free footy, very happy for those late North goals though :)

Hmm, Bays leading the pack by the length of the straight.
Their fans MUST be feeling just a little bit excited. If not publicly, then at least in the privacy of their bedrooms.
Get that bandwagon warmed up, Glenelg is going to pack it out!

Would be the biggest choke since the Crows in 2017 if the Bays didn't win it this year.

Think most keen SANFL observers knew the Bays would improve this year, with many thinking they were a genuine contender. Not sure anyone would have picked them to have the flag on toast this quickly.

Why arent we getting ahead of ourselves? Well just read this thread: http://safooty.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15180

Seriously we're going OK and yep we'll play finals this year.

Our 2nd qtr today and the last 10 mins show why we, Bays fans, know exactly where we are ATM, and the work we need to do before we start even contemplating anything.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

An astute observation there JK. I certainly hadn't picked them to have already won the flag in June. But, everyone's saying it now.
Only the truly wise would have picked them sooner!
Any of you Bay blokes put some cash on them at the start of the year? Must have received very good odds then.

If Glenelg dont win the 2019 flag it will be the biggest choke since Norwood and the Eagles in 2018 and the Crows in the AFL in 2017.

Both Adelaide reserves & Glenelg were $26 at the start of the year to win the flag.

How much did you put on Spargo?
I won about 3,500 on Sturt to win the flag, into the Power to miss the 8 in 2016 for a $10 bet.

It has nothing to with anything but Glenelg fans are not getting ahead of themselves as they know their finals record. Just admit it.

Dodge it all you like , Glenelg are the best team in the competition. A lot of Bay fans were worried about Hosie was leaving . 1 player who kicked a few goals. You can sling whatever you want at me but Glenelg are a good team.

The wagon is gaining steam . Its a great thing for the SANFL . Picked them awhile back and got laughed at and will stick with a Glenelg V Norwood GF . Great result for the SANFL if that happens.

The wood work is creaking, the wagon is filling, get on board mate, you don't want to be left behind.

I have received a PM from one very wise Glenelg supporter who got on them way before the odds came crashing in.
I won't mention the exact size, let's just say it won't fit too easily into the breadbox.
One very happy, and wise Glenelg fan who embraced their surging destiny long before the rest of us realised the inevitable.
Bays fans getting excited, it seems.

Crowd at yesterday's game was 3,685; a little different to the 2,083 for the same game last year.

Wasn't at the game but sounded like we played in bursts. I expect we will be tested a whole lot more next week, South outplayed us for three quarters last time we met.

Glenelg looked very, very good when they turned it on; trouble is they couldn't - or perhaps just didn't - keep it turned on.

Thought Timmy Sumner had a good return to the top level; did more than just fill an empty jumper.

North is far better than its position on the ladder suggests. Their intensity in the first half was excellent, Glenelg was made to earn every possession.

Very quiet on Snout's Hill when the Roosters kicked a goal - usually plenty of Grog types perch near the southern bar, but not yesterday?

Brickbats to the primary school for their automatic siren which sounded well into time-on in the second, causing mini-leaguers to stream onto the ground.

And Kudos to the Roosters for resurrecting the candy stripes. That is a fine looking guernsey. 8)

Apparently that automatic siren caused issues during the reserves game as well? If there been a drinking game for every time Peter Walsh mentioned "sirengate" on the commentary during the second half there'd be one hell of a hang over today!

Grogs were down the other end mate (or at the pub in my case).

He was appalling yesterday.

It like he's trying to think up funny (which he isn't) shit all the time instead of watching the game.

He completely missed a free kick in the third but when play stopped he called it to North but failed to realize that the free kick was actually the other way for a trip. he then prated on to cover his mistake to make it sound like the umpires were making it confusing.

He's symptomatic of a broadcaster who thinks the entertainment is him rather than what we see on the screen.

At least he is getting payers names right now after half the season (compared to Rds 1 and 2)

The Le Cornu joke spare me.

Narelle Smith was good and her professionalism compared to him showed during eh siren issue in the 2nd. Walsh was pratting on dramatizing it up but Smith was calm checked in with the time keepers to get an understanding of what was going on and stuck to the facts.
