Why are we avoiding the elephant in the room?

How good was it of Kohli telling his fans to stop booing? This guy will go down as possibly the most influential and greatest captains ever.

We loved Ponting and Steve Waugh for their Stoic arrogance, he is the exact same mould, we'd want him as PM if he was an Aussie.

That pure class IMO.

Didn't know it was the elephant in the room!

Do agree though, he will go down as the most influential and arguably the greatest captain ever - he's well on his way already with what he's been able to achieve.

Telling the fans to stop booing also shows just how influential and how respected/loved he is amongst Indian people.

Pure class indeed, amazing cricketer.
For an absolute cricket nuffie I love watching him bat because he is just so damn good, I love and respect his competitiveness and I think cricket supporters everywhere shouldn't take for granted how good and how influential he is.

Not that I think there will be much play tonight I would be going with a team off:

Finch
Warner
Smith
S.Marsh
Carey
Maxwell
Coulter-Nile
Cummins
Starc
Lyon
Behrendorf

Love it!

He reminds me of the Gowans Twins in the SANFL.

If you are on opposition supporter sometimes you can let the 'sideshow' 'personality' meant that you lose site of the class, skill and quality he plays with. His record across all 3 formats is out of this world and imo seperates him from Steve Smith, Joe Root etc.

I have no doubt barring injury he will go down as Indias greatest ever captain and will easily be in the discussion and have the statistics to back up a India's great batsmen call.

Not sure why everyone's got a stiffy about this, one of the easiest things he's ever done which he knew would endear himself to everyone even more anyway.

Plus it makes his opponents look overly sensitive. If I were Smith or Warner I'd play better with the whole stadium booing me anyway.

No erection here mate, I thought it was great and obviously Smith was very appreciative, he would've teared up.

Virat is all class off the field, fierce competitor on it.
Two traits highly admired by Aussies.

Looks pretty green and I was reading that it is a bowl first pitch with the cold weather and high cloud cover.
