Nope, luckily Woakes caught him second time around and it didn't cost them much.

Terrific performance. Pity about roy and morgan, hopefully they can recover quickly. With Archer and wood we finally have 2 decent quicks which is very nice.

Roy pulled a hammy, prob would not have batted ?
Morgan could hardly walk , may have batted ?
EG might have effectively been 1/0 or 2/0 ?

Root opens the batting with Bairstow
They were up against the explosive WI attack, most prob the best performed attack in the World Cup
Get Root or Bairstow or both out cheaply , EG might have lost this match

Root makes a ton not out
Awesome innings
It was a masterclass innings on how to play pull shots
If anyone didnt see this innings, watch a replay , Roots handling of short pitched stuff was universal class

Is there any reason why you abreviate England as EG rather than the more common ENG, Mal?

Over the years on various sites I often abbreviate sporting teams to 2 letters in capitals
Just an idiosyncrasy or idiotsincrazy of mine

In the cricket I post
England = EG[for example ;) ]
West Indies = WI
Australia = AU
etc etc

In the football I post
Norwood = NW
Port Adelaide = PA
St Kilda = SK
Adelaide Crows = AC
etc etc

The abbreviations saves time when posting , and might also delay onset RSI in my fingers ;)

Warner is a concern, if he doesn't' go on with his slow starts then it is basically a team handicap.

He wasn’t great tonight but did his job and was trying to give Finch the strike. Will take an 80 run opening partnership off 16 overs every game

Kumar needs to lay off his Warner bashing now. I think 15 overs of it is enough.
