Went at 88% DE

Gray 44% with game high 7 clangers.

Motlop 4x clangers from 16 disposals, 2x tackles, 0x 1% efforts, 1x contested possession.. useless.

I was so glad when we got rid of Motlop. He used to do my head in.

I honestly thought Port were going to win at 3/4 time, thought they had a lot of momentum and looked to be running on top of the ground.

I give them a big chance to win this week, but either way I reckon it should be a good game against the Cats. Think this is a "Mini Grand Final"for Port so they will come to play and from memory the Cats in recent years have often been a bit rusty off the bye?

The most damning number is one of the two who had 2 possessions or less is the bloke we could have used in the ruck or in defence to take a grab, Dougal Howard. He was left languishing at CHF and we couldn't get it too the wing.

Howard into the ruck, Lycett to FF next to Farrell, Ryder and Westhoff across CHF giving an option, but nothing of the sort was done. Instead Lycett was left to walk around gasping like a heavy weight in the 10th round.

They looked to be running in quicksand in the final quarter yesterday

Geelong must spend their bye in Asia too.

Do you think it's because Ken is no good and making changes during quarters or puts too much faith in the process? Or is he not getting enough support or input from his assistants?

Surely if something isnt working you move the magnets and make the changes.. but far too often he seems to let it all just play out.

Who knows, either way I was filthy that nothing changed in the last 15 minutes. As Dutchy said above, we had the momentum going into the last so let it play out for 10 minutes or so but once it became apparent we were getting smacked in the middle DO SOMETHING. Put the big bodies in there, get a fresh big bloke into the ruck, it was just glaringly obvious what was going wrong.

Those hard hitting questions need to be asked in the presser and Hinkley held to account - not skirting around it with diplomatic answers.

"Always gonna be a winner or loser"
"Last quarter was just dominant from Freo, had more run in their legs"
"To their credit gave us nothing"
"Good game, close for 3/4 but Freo took control and dominated the last"

Just absolute waft.

Don't be scared to throw a little SGM at Port 1-39, Robbie to kick 3 and a couple of possession markets, these are the games when Port do actually play well and win.

Oops, scrub that, we haven't beaten Geelong since 2014, before that it was round 21 2007
