I know mate, wasn't just my personal experience but those of people I've met and dealt with in my 48 years of working in the public sevice for almost 30 years (dealing with mainly underprivileged people as well as a lot of disabled prople) and in hospitality for a few too, living down south, inner north and inner west.

Advil, bite into it, it tastes like pure arse but works, otherwise break up panadeine tablets and dab it on to the affected tooth.

Sunday Night program last night
SnapCrash

The crash involving the girls playing chicken and they filmed it live onto Snapchat.
Those girls weren't telling the full story and are quite delusional.

I feel sorry for the blokes they injured doing that, especially the one in the wheelchair. Had his life ruined because of those dumb b!tches. You get what you deserve if you do something like that.

My lad has work experience this week, couldn't believe ti when he told me the school makes it optional, apparently only 70 out of the 200+ kids are actually doing work experience, make it mandatory FFS get the kids out there in the real world, a week out there will be worth over a month at school.

I learnt stacks from my week of work experience and really enjoyed it. Was a different time back then, went to leave on the Friday and a coupla blokes grabbed me and said "where do you think you're going?" then dragged me into the Conference Room that was decked out with all kinds of booze for end of work drinks with about 100 eager staff members all digging in. Great week finished off with a flurry of beers as a 16 year old and I couldn't wait to join the workforce lol.

I did a few stints, I left it too late once and a mate tee'd me up to do it at Salisbury Council with him.

There was a staff meeting a couple of days in, on the agenda was a vote to get a RDO in place for the workers, everyone but one bloke voted in favour, the speaker then asked the one old bloke that voted against why he did so?

"That's one extra day that I'll have to spend with that pig of a missus of mine"

That was the highlight for me.

I did mine at a school too. The PE teacher who I spent the most time with, took me into the tuck shop each day, filled both our arms with food, walked up to the ice cream container used as the till and shook it so it sounded like money going in.

Yeah the lad wants to be PE teacher so has gone back to his old Primary school and knows all the teachers.

He got a call on the way there this morning to do a work shift straight after work experience until 9.30pm, good long day of work for him, real world stuff, love it.

Animal Welfare League is where I did mine.
Spent most of the time mucking out the kennels - didn't make playing with the dogs worth it!
There were 2 big Akitas there at the time who were in the news for attacking some bloke (unfortunately, I wasn't allowed in that kennel).
I apologise.

I remember doing two work experiences at school.

The first I hated, was at a retail store and literally got sent to the back office to file for 5 days. Only skill I learnt was not giving a shite whether the Smi's came before the Smy's.

The second time I did it with my Grandad who was a Dulux Rep, thought it was pretty cool that he just got to drive around chatting to people about something he was passionate about, got to have lunch when he liked etc. Met some interesting characters and heard some colourful language I had never heard him use before.

Had forgotten I actually had a 2nd WE stint at a Child Care centre somewhere in the Port from memory. Remember having a blast playing with the kids for a few days, was a career option for me given how much I enjoyed it, but not long later I discovered I enjoyed drinking more, and the two probably weren't a good fit.
