I worked with a fella a few years ago who was good mates with a bloke who’s cousin played AFL. He was a half back/run with player who’d been told he was starting forward this night. He was $26 for first goal. Only let his cousin & old man know. We loaded up big time. His exact words were “If I get it anywhere inside 50 I’m having a shot”...
Sure enough they went forward first, he marked 40 out on the boundary line. Ignored a couple of good leads, went back,

...and hit the f#cking post.

Knowing Josh Glenn liked a goal and he went from being emergency to a late inclusion a couple of us chucked some money in for first goal in his debut match, was a healthy payout.

My cousin played 5 games of AFL, a heap of us flew over to Melbourne to watch his debut at the Telstra dome. We had about 15 of us in with the family and friends section. A lions official came to chat with us about 30mins before the bounce and let it slip he would be starting in the forward pocket (he was a 200cm ruckman), so his brother and I went and found the TAB and loaded up. I had $200 at 41s (back before they limited how much you could bet on these markets). Sure enough, the lions won the centre clearance and bombed it forward. My cousin threw away his opponent only to drop the uncontested mark 15 out straight in front.

I still give him grief over it! haha

Not sure what to make of it, basically giving him a week for being a dickhead. Should of just elbowed him in the head.

The tribunal get something right.

Was as weak as weak gets, he knows Fantasia can't spin around and belt him.

While I'm not a fan of talking about the "optics" of the game this is a crap look, especially for kids watching. A stance had to be taken.

Agree he needed to be punished.

Any of the non football related niggling acts should be stamped out on the basis the player receiving the tactics is very limited in how they can respond.

Actually wish Fantasia (or Cameron prior) had turned around and smacked him in the gob, just to see if the "extreme provocation" policy is still an option at Tribunal

Cannot cop that punishment if that’s what happened and he wasn’t the one who placed the bet. Sanity has to prevail
