He failed !
Shakib C Warner B Stoinis 41[41]
And BA still made 8/333 , top effort with the bat

Liton Das first ball faced was almost light out for Liton
Was hit on the helmet by STARc
Das only made 20 [17] but looked real good in doing so , following that brilliant 94 not out[69] against WI

Glen Smashwell is a brilliant batsman a brilliant fielder but a boring bowler
He appears to want to contain instead of dismiss batsmen
He was Australias first change bowler in this game , maybe not the right option ?
Our bowling worries me ...

David Warner 166[147] wow !

Maxwell has to try and contain, when you got NCN, Stoinis and on many occasions Starc all going at 6-7.5 an over someone has to try to be the restrictive bowler.

Surprised at the size of the crowd at Headingly watching the Poms take on Sri Lanka. Lots of empty seats. I thought they had sold 98% of tickets before the tournament started.

Lankans only made 232 but Malinga picked up Bairstow 2nd ball. England should still win easily but a couple more might make it interesting

Australia, India and the Kiwis to come for the Poms. Lose to us and it might be squeaky bum time for the anointed World Cup Winners [emoji23]

The Lankan keeper is the best laugher in the game. His two catches off the spinner and his reaction are priceless.

Malinga bowled beautifully to their top order, hope the aussie bowlers had a good look at his opening spell.

fast and straight but mainly full, got good support as well from the other bowlers

After seeing how Malinga went through them I’d bet the English curators are hastily preparing a road at Lords in preparation for the Aussie quicks

Yes, I'm very interested to see what type of pitch the curators will prepare for the Lords match. Dave Warner was asked about the Trent Bridge pitch in his post match presser from Thursday's match and he joked saying he enjoyed it now knowing that there's no way we will get a batting friendly pitch at any stage of the Ashes. (Going off topic here) Looking at the potential batting groups of the 2 sides if we were to get roads during the Ashes I'm confident we will out-bat England. The difference between us winning and losing is the Anderson/Broad factor and how much of an impact they will have.
