One thing the team of the last 25 years wouldn’t lose is any fights.... some serious crime fighters in that team!

I wouldn’t want to be playing defence if I was up against Shamus Osborn, Blake Moser, Stephen Zweck, Mark Bradley, Bob Mitchard and Lee Blucher all in their prime - Add to that having an D2 medalist as your centre man and he’s dishing it out to Tony Signiorello and Nick Chesser. Team of the last 25 years is a good side and a lot of those blokes were proven players in higher divisions/leagues. They’d win easily and wouldn’t be playing div 5. Minimum 50 games was needed to qualify so Simon Croucher, Justin Salisbury, Jordan Wilson-King and many others didn’t qualify.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

a good night had by all LK!

reserves game was a beauty saturday..another chance gone for us to get 2 points..top 5 are all really good teams..cant pick a winner yet..great set up there at SFC..changerooms are sensational, the oval surface was fantastic and the new clubrooms reeked of history..

A grade game went our way which was pleasing after our last effort away at EPFC..consistency is our biggest concern right now so hopefully we can get a another win against our old rivals smithfield this week..but it wont be an easy task..

Well done on a great win zed, very convincing for an away game on an oval that has it's own postcode.

Arguably the biggest game of the season thus far - infact could be the biggest game of the season full stop.

The ramifications for the loser are massive, and really sets them behind the 8 ball whilst the winner gains a foothold on a finals spot.

A little bit extra in this as well given what happened Round 1... should be an absolute beauty.. money on Lockleys.

H2H: Lockleys $1.67 vs Smithfield $2.15.

cheers mate..it is a big oval but we really enjoyed the wide expanses..

beef: i can assure you salisbury played to win..what a coach does with his players are game day decisions and some work and some dont but unless you are within the inner sanctum its only conjecture as to why..

i bring my own food to game day so i will stay out of the #canteenwars.. :)

What happened to Rosewater with one of their players getting suspended for 8 games. Are they still on notice from other problem?

Doesn’t that come into action next season not this season? Just being trialed at the moment?

The new BRS starts next year. The last 'The Update' email from the league has Rosewater on a hypothetical ( IF the BRS was already in place) in season rating of 3 for 2019 (this included the 8 games from this year). If they stay out of trouble for the rest of this year they will start 2020 on 2 as the suspensions from 2016 drop off of everyone's count.

I don't know if they are on any current agreement.

As far as I know, no club is on an Amended Affiliation Agreement and the new BRS system is active and in place this season.

From weekly update:

2019 is a transition period from Amended Affiliation Agreements applied with local knowledge to a system that is transparent.

The BRS removes all subjectivity as per the objectives listed below:

 Target SPECIFIC offences i.e. Intentionally Striking, Kicking, Kneeing, Head-Butt, Umpire Abuse
 Remove the EMOTION from the decisions
 Remove the PERCEPTIONS that The League is discriminating against clubs i.e. why aren’t they on subject to sanctions ?
 Allows for IN-SEASON sanctions though offers clubs the opportunity to press the reset button in the off season
 Starting value is determined on RECENT HISTORY i.e. 3 Year period
 Implementation of penalties becomes a PROCESS
 It DILUTES the protestation by a club that they did not recognise a problem or trend in behaviours as being unacceptable.

The far right shows where a club will start in 2020 with no reports for the balance of the season.

If the BRS was live, the clubs with an In-season rating of 3 should be addressing their players regularly.

It’s working. Clubs are enquiring where they rate. They’re enquiring how they retain their rating of 1 or 2 and if the resulting action from a club reading the riot act to players results in the club A) retaining its current value or B) reducing the next season’s rating, it is doing its job.

And a report doesn’t mean the end of the world. Brahma Lodge have had 2 reports for 5 matches in 2019. If they keep the status quo, they will still reduce to a rating 2 in 2020 despite starting on a 3 this year. What will happen at the end of this season is their 2016 tribunal record of 5 (16) will drop out of the equation.

I should read it more carefully. We are not on AAA.

Went to Trinity for the first time in a very long time today. Great facilities for supporters since being there last and there wouldn’t be many better playing decks going around in any league in SA.

Except for the visiting change rooms being 2 good screw punts away from the oval and the awesome cold shower after the game.....
Nice oval though

Got a bit bored last night and went through the players used at A grade level by club this year.

Hope Valley 28
Pulteney 32
Kenilworth 36
Blackfriars OS 38
Lockleys 38
Salisbury 39
Trinity OS 40
Eastern Park 42
Smithfield 43
Rosewater 47

Interestingly that’s already the most players in a season we have used since 2016 - Put it in to perspective though you can see why some clubs are finding the going tough to be that unsettled. Hope Valley to only use 28 players at this time of the year in the 1’s is remarkable and commendable to manage their list so well year to date. No shock, the top 3 teams also have used the least amount of players...
