Quite enjoyed my week of work experience. Went around to schools with a SACA rep helping him run coaching clinics etc. Got mistaken for a Redback on a few occasions, which was amusing. Lots of driving though, which didn't interest me as a teenager.

I did mine at a wreckers that used to be on Grand Junction. The Friday before I was supposed to start work experience, I hadn't organised something, so the teacher and I did a quick ring around.

First day rocked up, place was a shithole. There was a weatherboard house out the back with a "Hills Have Eyes" family living in it. Two of the guys "working" there were part of that family.

They told me I could badge any car I wanted, so to appease them I did, and ditched the Ford badge of an XD in the bin at home. What the f**k am I gonna do with that?

After a week of being cold, wet and dirty, the boss (who hadn't even actually talked to me yet) called me into his office. He asked me if I was considering it a career choice after the experience, and I said "probably not."

His response was something like, "Yeah, I wouldn't either. It's shit."

Place closed down about a year later I think. Google Street View says it was a furniture place by 2008, and my WE was in 2004.

I did my work experience at "The News"

I got to go out and do a few stories with players like Darren Smith and others who were joining the fire brigade at the time. I had my own story published on some random sport called Eskrima...

Oh - and Port Adelaide decided they wanted to enter the AFL so spent until midnight getting comment from everyone from Russell Ebert, to Ross Oakley.

Yeah, It was alright ;-)

My first work experience was with an accountant down on The Broadway at Glenelg. Led to further part time work over the school holidays which allowed me to save up $450 for a Commodore 64 disc drive!
Was offered full time work there if I followed on with accountancy but chose not to pursue that route.

My 2nd work experience was 2 years ago at the Sussex Hotel, that led to further employment too. :D

I must make a good impression. ;)

I did mine at the Caltex on the corner of fletcher road and centre street at Largs.
I spent 4 days cleaning oil and grease off every **** tool and square inch of the ground.
On the Friday they finally let me look under the bonnet and actually taught me something mechanical.

It was back in the day when you didn’t pump petrol yourself so I had to fill up cars in between scrubbing the oil and grease.

Needless to say I didn’t want to be a mechanic anymore after that week.

Went to a cinema in Spain to see 'Rocket Man' on the presumption that the film would have the original English soundtrack with Spanish subtitles, only to find out that the bloody thing was entirely dubbed.
