A trip to Perth with our CEO as the centre I manage is up for a Park & Leisure Australia National Award.

The awards night at the Crown Casino should be ok but the after party with the CEO will be loose! Ex-AFL Footballer who still parties like he believes his a current one :)

Won't even bother to take my wallet.

How hard is it uprooting and moving interstate for work?

I've got inside 4 hours to make a decision on applying for a role in Yatala, Queensland, most of me says be selfish and go for it, the reserved part thinks of all the real shit it could cause.

Did you apply for the job in QLD mate?

Yep, left it til late Friday, only to have my manager talk me in to withdrawing my application by lunch time Monday.

It was probably the sensible thing to do given the ages of my kids, my son is pretty much guaranteed a job the day he hits 18 if I stay here and I've really gotta keep them both in line during the most important years of childhood.

There will be more opportunities down the track.

Fair enough. I had multiple opportunities years ago to move and rejected them as I didn’t think it would suit my kids. When the opportunity was there in late 2016 the situation had changed, and my kids were established in work, uni and even there private lives with partners. Now 2 & half years on I don’t regret the move at all. Even at 51 it wasn’t to late.

I'm 44 now, youngest is 14 next week, time is on my side a bit, it's just a bit frustrating knowing roughly what's on offer for certain jobs and Adelaide being the sleepy town where nothing changes.

My son is captaining his development squad team tonight, it's their last game, they are undefeated for the season.

Coached by the great "Tommy Javor".

Furthermore, they are going to AFL MAX next Wednesday, should be a great experience.
