Difficult trip out to Rosewater on the weekend, credit to the 'Dogs they're a much improved side than Rd 2 and frankly far better than results show. I think they'll win 3 of the next 7 games and avoid relegation.

A fortunate toss of the coin had our A grade kicking with a strong breeze in the 1st and a 3 goal to zip quarter ultimately proved the difference. Rosies kept in the fight, after half time kicked a couple early into the breeze to shorten the gap and it felt like an upset might be on the cards. The last quarter was a real arm wrestle for the first half before Pulteney managed to kick a goal and that ended that.

Beautiful setup out at Eric Sutton, fantastic clubrooms - players and members are certainly very fortunate to have such a quality establishment.

Highlight of the day though.. well it's split - first of all a nice hot pie.. nothing beats a bakery pie, far better than Villi's or Balfours! Second was a hotdog.. not just a hotdog, as the lady informed me it was "a lifechanger".

Fair to say she didn't exaggerate, oh boy oh boy was it amazeballs! Firstly you cant beat a hotdog that's stuck in a sandwich press - gives it a nice compacted, toasted feel - that extra crunch and texture compliments the soft juicy 'dog inside.. added cheese and sauce, cheese oozed out as it was pressed, and then added to the outside layer creating a delectable cheese crust.. made me relive childhood memories of having the old toasted cheese sangas under the grill as a kid.. **** ing fantastic!

Only way to have it, slice the sausage down the middle so it butterflies, heat some red onion and bacon on the sandwich press while the snag is heating.

Takes a bit longer but absolute gourmet stuff.

Am I the only one sick to death of Smithfield playing their own games and not allocating player points each week? They gonna play the "admin error/we still learning" card every time?

Also filthy they cant even get their team sheets right - or they are just straight out cheats thinking everyone else is too dumb to notice?

Their B grade team sheet vs Lockleys doesn't even have Caleb Burgoyne named.. but there are photos of him running around on the AdFL FB page.

Seems he was "Dempsey Kelly" that day.. probably hadn't finished his registration by game time so you know **** it, no one will know.

WINNERS AND LOOOOOOSERS
Hope Valley v Eastern Park: Win for HV will almost certainly lock away the double chance, maintaining at least a 2 game buffer on third place with 6 games remaining, and more importantly potentially setting up a showdown with Kenilworth next week for top spot. HV win will see Eastern Park fall back with the pack, potentially slip to 5th and sit only a game clear of the challengers outside the 5.

Eastern Park victory will see them remain inside the top 5, and increasingly close to a finals return, making them a tough side to catch and smoky come pointy end of the year. Inflicting a loss on the Demons of the Hope Valley persuasion will bring them back a level and depending on results could find themselves in a tough battle to maintain a top 3 spot with Kenilworth and Pulteney to come.

Pulteney v Lockleys Pulteney have gone about their business ok this year, and a win over Lockleys tomorrow would ensure they remain a game clear in 3rd place, depending on results could move to within a game of the side(s) above. It'll also create a massive 3 game break over 5th place. Lockleys though will find themselves in a difficult predicament and potentially in a 3-way fight for 5th with the sides below, and thoughts of a top 3 finish all but shot falling 3 wins off the pace heading into the back 6.

Lockleys have been building and sniffing around, came agonisingly close last week to Hope Valley and appear desperate to claim that one big scalp to really kick start them. A win tomorrow on enemy territory would see them remain a buffer on the sides below, move to within 1 win of catching Pulteney and if Eastern Park fall they'll move into 4th position. Suddenly top 3 spot is well and truly alive. For the Blues should they fall tomorrow, they run the risk of their season spiralling out of control as they embark on the most difficult month out of all sides, starting with Eastern Park (Away) then Kenilworth at home. A lose will lose touch with the top 2, and could find themselves equal with Eastern Park on 16pts, whilst only being a win ahead of Lockleys in 5th.

Smithfield v Kenilworth Should the Panthers replicate the heroics of their local rival Salisbury and knock off the travelling Kookaburras, they'll remain in the finals hunt, and should results fall their way will move equal with Lockleys on points and a game behind Eastern Park. The loss for Kenilworth will see the previously undefeated but still current flag favourites potentially drop top spot, setting up a massive clash with Hope Valley next week. A loss and a Pulteney win would see them only sit a game clear. Healthy percentage works in favour.

Kenilworth have become accustomed to winning this season and should they return to their winning ways tomorrow they will sit pretty top of the tree at the end of the round and likely 5 wins clear of 6th place with 6 games to play - finals will be secured and the double chance almost locked away. Smithfield on the other hand would remain on 5 wins with a battling percentage - if results go against them they could slip to 7th and fall 2 games behind the top 5, tough going from there.

Blackfriars Os v Rosewater Same same for these sides - a victory keeps alive the hopes of staving off relegation, a loss all but assures their fate and D6 in 2020. Rosewaters percentage holds them marginally in better condition.

Trinity OS v Salisbury Trinity OS victory at home will almost certainly gurantee they avoid relegation as they maintain a one game buffer over 9th place and will hold a marginally better percentage, it will also move them within 2 wins of Salisbury and put the heat back on the Magpies to lift their game over the back 6. Salisbury will lose touch with the top 5 and should results fall against their favour, find themselves 2 wins outside of the 5 with a significantly poorer percentage than those above.

Salisbury victory builds on last weeks Herculean effort, boosts their poor percentage but most importantly will keep them well and truly alive in the finals hunt. They'd be praying for a Lockleys and Smithfield loss, which would then see them draw even on wins with the 5th placed Lockleys - and if Eastern Park fall, will sit only a win off 4th place. Trinity on the other hand will likely sit 9th at the end of the round with Rosewater in Rd 13 their chance to get out of the danger zone - but it may be too late by then.

That’s not good at all if correct

Imo that kind of breach is pretty significant and needs to be stamped out harshly and on every occasion.

Dangerous precedent if you start letting teams get a bit cheeky with that.

Mate of mine got 10 or 12 games from memory for playing a player yet to be cleared under another name. This was around 12 years ago.

Hats off to a very welcoming Smithfield today.

Cheers to the match day official being very helpful whilst I was directing our c grade whilst doing the team management side of it as well due to personel shortages. Very helpful.

All three of there grades had a real crack and the Smithfield A grade probably deserved a win but came up a bit short.

Wonderful vibe around the place, enjoyed the day. The Barbie is top notch.

Smithfield for most part of the day were very good in the 1’s. Kenilworth on 2 occasions got out to a decent lead but they were pinned back. It’s almost a carbon copy of our game out there last year. In the end we were lucky.

I’m backing Smithfield to get at least a decent scalp before the year is out. How consistent they can be will determine whether they play finals.

Football is shit.. Rafanelli with 44 disposals, 39 contested single handedly carried Lockleys B grade to victory against all odds..
