Ladder after Rd 12
22 - Kenilworth
22 - Hope Valley
18 - Pulteney
14 - Eastern Park
12 - Lockleys

-------------------------
12 - Salisbury
10 - Smithfield
04 - Rosewater
04 - Trinity OS
02 - Blackfriars OS

This division continues to just not give an inch, the only certainties are the top 2 will play finals, the bottom 3 will not.. everything inbetween is still up for debate.

Pulteney's win over Lockleys on the weekend has left the finals door ajar for Salisbury and Smithfield - the Panthers almost pulling off a massive upset over Kenilworth. Their result begs the questions - is that a result of how good Smithfield could be? Are Kenilworth vulnerable? Combination of both?

Lockleys have a smoother month coming up with the bottom 3 sides - should they collect the points, move to 18pts with EP, KEN and SAL to close out the season.. Smithfield have a tricky period with SAL, TOS, HV and PUL before they finish with BOS and ROS.

Eastern Park emerging as the genuine threat in this division - 2 games behind Pulteney and have BOS, ROS and TOS to come this season before finishing with KEN at home, the Demons could genuinely make a play for top 3.. Massive game this weekend against the Blues, one of those "4 point games".

No good writing off the bottom 3-4 sides, they still have ample to play for and will be keen on finishing the season strong, a big scalp may still be claimed by one of them, and that'll really set the cat amongst the pigeons.

Looking forward to the top of the table clash at Simonds Oval this week. It’s our indigenous round which will be a special day especially for the indigenous players, supporters and families involved at Kenilworth. SANFL legend and former Kenilworth A Grade coach Eddie Fry will be performing the Welcome To Country ceremony prior to the game and our indigenous players have designed a guernsey to be worn on the day.

Go the mighty Kookaburras!

Grand Final Preview?
Only percentage seperates the two Divsion 5 front runners on the ladder heading into arguably the biggest clash so far this season at St Marys. The winner could well move 5 games clear of 4th place if Pulteney knock off Eastern Park - meaning the double chance is sewn up, and a strong foothold on the minor premiership and much needed first week off come finals action.

In Round 4 it was the Kookaburras victors to the tune of 30 points, setup on the back of a 2.5 to 0.0 second quarter, heading into the main break with a 25 point buffer which would prove to be a bridge too far for the Demons on their home deck. Former Port Adelaide goal sneak Daniel Motlop collected a game high 4 goals that day, being fed from Chesser and Cotsaris who relished off the tap work from marquee signing Neil Vea Vea in the middle.

Jake Hellmans was well held by Shaun Clarke but still managed two goals - the Demons will be cautious of Clarke's run and creativity from the backlines this time around. Lucas Harney adjudged best on by the Valleys braintrust, with Williams, Press and Hunt also figuring prominently for the Demons.

Noticeable abscence last time around was that of the Hope Valley coach Mitch Sandery - his presence through the midfield on this return bout will be pivotal in swaying favour his sides way.

Match winners all around the ground - complimented by potent forward lines - for the 'Burras Andrew Liverton is enjoying ample opportunties from F50 entries with a division high 53 goals, a nice foil for Motlop who has found form with a 6 goal return last week against Smithfield. Wilson-King (24), Chesser (14), Cotsaris (14) and Ryles (13) others who have regularly hit the scoreboard. At the other end Jayke Hellmans has been colossial with 46 goals, whilst bringing others into the game with his agility and footy nous for a big fella. Payne (34) and Hunt (24) and Williamson (23) have all cracked the 20 goal barrier for the Demons - and historically sides who can find 3+ players to kick 20+ goals in a season are more likely to win premierships.

Kenilworth enter this game with a little bit shaky form - dropping their first game to Salisbury a fortnight ago before surviving a late scare from Smithfield to win by 5 points. Richter, Chesser and Garner amongst the best. Indigenous Round this weekend in front of a bumper home crowd they'll be eager to make a statement early.

Hope Valley on the other hand rolled on in emphatic fashion against the inform Eastern Park putting them to the sword in the battle of the Demons by 81 points - highlighting the gap between the top and the rest. Hellmans with an 11 goal return can thank Riddle, Schilling, Dowling and co for feeding him all day, whilst Payne chipped in with a lazy 6 off the flank.

Chesser.. Vea Vea.. Richter.. Garner.. Kruse.. Wilson-King vs Sandery.. Payne.. Garang.. Hellmanns.. Tanczos.. Dowling...

Will the Kookaburras be laughing come 5:00pm or will the Demons continue on the rampage towards finals?

Strap yourselves in, this one promises to be a beauty.

Tip: Hope Valley by 7 points

D5R hard to see a winner coming from EP, ROS, TOS or BOS who have struggled to win games. Marafioti BOS best chance to poll and think maybe a Matt Burne for TOS. Alex Shaw or Brock Honson best for Rosewater.

You'd think Moran (HV) as an outside runner would catch the eyes of a few umpires, Mann and Rentoulis others who may poll well, whilst like the look of Scala from Lockleys and best bet for me. Rafanelli has been in their best most weeks, but not sure umpires will view his game as lovingly as dad does.

Been a long time since we played Kenilworth so but hazy on the memory, but one would think Salvati or Mably mostly because they've played more games than most. Expect Delawyer, Flanigan, Sellar will poll votes in games they play.

Salisbury may steal votes off each other - Balchin is dangerous forward, Bilney is a unit and kicks bags, Pryor and McPherson chopped us up earlier in the year.. the winner probably should come from the Pies.

Smithfield not sure they've won enough games - John Owen and Micky Lane stand out, Varcoe is good and Nathan Coulson & D'Arcy Young are both very damaging on their day.

I feel like 15 votes might be enough to win it, **** knows who though..

Dan Reardon is out for the rest of the season so whilst he might poll well in the first 9, you won't really see him in the back 9

Good day out Eastern Park - beautiful club rooms.. elite chips & gravy.. and ladies day with live band!

If the wife wasn’t waiting in the car park I’d probably still be there.

Good sort out there - scores don’t do justice to how tough the B and A grade games truly were.. if they make the 5 watch out .

Last 4-5 weeks has seen at least 5-6 changes a week to the 1’s. Hopefully we start to see a more consistent line up from now.

Loved the effort our indigenous lads went to for the day and Eddie Fry is an outstanding speaker and person. Very proud of our club today!
