Yes we would .... he would be bagged just like every other batsman that shows any inconsistency.

Wasn't he our 2nd highest run scorer against India last summer?

Yes he was, albeit with a modest aggregate and average. He is frustrating because he has the ability to get in, but throw it away with a reckless shot.
I think he is a lock for Edgbaston at 5.

Trav is also VC of the side so will be an absolute lock for the series

He's 25 years old, played 8 tests with an average of over 50.

Yes he can frustrate us but he has a lot to learn and there's been plenty of players that have done worst than him at this age but have turned it all around.

I think he is a lock for Edgbaston at 5.

I'd bat him at 6, batting at 5 is practically first drop and he's more likely to shelve the stray shots with less wickets in hand as there is more pressure on him to score decent runs.

England getting cleaned up at Lords as the opener gets out before the nightwatchman (the number eleven Leach) in the second dig. England 1/26, 96 runs behind Ireland's score.

And still no Pommie Nightwatchman has made a ton after Leach was out for 92 after being dropped again only a few balls earlier.

Cam Bancroft has put the cat amongst the pigeons with a great knock to win his team the all aussie contest. Wow.

Not sure the all Aussie match did much more than pose more questions than answers.

The big winner/losers for me were (note that doesn't meant they will be picked)

Winners
-Bancroft 93* only batsmen to STAR
-Pattinson put in strong performance with 4 wickets to continue to throw his name in the hat
-Tim Paine not for his own performance but because both Carey and Wade failed in both innings like nearly all the batsmen
-Labuschagne probably the best batsmen of the first innings, might just be enough to break the dead heat between batsmen
-Mitch Marsh, not that I think he will get picked but a 5fa and the only batsmen to score over 20 in both innings keeps him in selectors minds.

Losers
-Harris, Head, Burns & Patterson all played in the last test match and performed well, poor performances in this match could see a couple of them dropped with Bancroft and Labuschagne scoring better
-Starc the least performing of the pace bowlers whilst Pattinson put in a strong performance
-Carey only way could have possibly jumped Wade was with a genuine big score, Paine failed but Carey couldn't capitalise

Watching this ireland test and remembering 2015 ashes surely the aussies will be thinking of picking siddle. Pace is not he key in engalnd its about putting the ball in the same spot consistently and siddle is the man to do it.

Bancroft will play first test IMO and wouldn’t be surprised if we played the 4 quicks and Lyon missed.
Think you can only play one of Starc/Pattinson and they will both be managed throughout the series.
Think they may go
Warner
Bancroft
Smith
Khawaja
Labuschagne
Head
Paine
Pattinson
Cummins
Siddle
Hazlewood

Personally i dont think Khawaja will be fit in time, the team i think selectors will pick, not necessarily the team i would pick will be:

Warner
Bancroft
Labusachagne
Smith
Head
Patterson
Paine
Cummins
Pattinson
Starc
Lyon

Take his score out (normally bats 11) and the rest did very little

I don't think he will, neither batting line ups are strong enough to require a 5th bowler, pick your 6 best batsmen
