They finally sent it to me on Tuesday only to find that it was delivered to my work the previous afternoon.
I get an email today from the wine company and Australia Post at different times last night letting me know that my order is now in transit, looks like a win looming, no extra funds have come out my account either.

Australia Post are, without any shadow of doubt, the most inept carrier/courier/logistics organisation you will ever deal with. They are over priced, they under deliver, how they are still a "thing" is beyond me.

Because they have by far the most resources and most complete network available in the country. They have the market pretty much sewn up in Australia

DHL for parcels, national freight carriers for anything larger than a shoe box, email for anything document related ( password protected PDF's for sensitive documents ).
I can send a shoe box with Northline on rail to Perth faster than I can send a "red" express post parcel bag.

I acutally don't care how much it costs but when I need something in a major city the next day why the hell can't it be guaranteed FFS?

I also rate my daughter for volunteering for such a great cause, should be an amazing experience for her too!The attachment received_441227963129660.jpeg is no longer available
Edit: I contacted North Adelaide and they've done the same!
