I think it's time the league turned on the ladder predictor.

Realistically with 3 weeks to play with 4th to 6th is too hard to call and two key head to head match ups both involving Lockleys will determine that final spot. Looking at the draw, in 2 weeks even if Hope Valley drop the game to Pulteney they should still hold 2nd spot - Last weeks big loss to Kenilworth really hurt the Blues healthy percentage which was a big advantage for them.

On the weekend in the reserves at Kenilworth I saw the exact same scenario which happened at Hope Valley the week prior. The ball was kicked, siren went and the ball then sailed over the line and out on the full in the defensive 50. The umpires decision......... Out on the full and a shot on goal!

Ha ha, well there you go!! I actually think that should be the correct decision. But unfortunately its not..

If it was me and not knowing the laws then I agree. But an umpire I spoke to on the weekend when given that scenario did also say that once the ball goes over a line after the siren then the match concludes. If you kick a behind then the opposition doesn’t get to kick it back in as time doesn’t go back on until the ball is disposed of or the player bringing it back in is called to play on.

Would likely come down to Rd 18 and who can suck the most percentage out of that game.

Blues still hold the advantage with percentage at the moment.

Interestng last 3 weeks.

Lockleys
- could lose all 3 games and fall out the 5, but could also easily win 2/3 at home and secure the home final.
Eastern Park - similarly, could lose probably 2 games and scrape in on percentage, or could knock off Lockleys this week and take box seat for a home final.
Salisbury - best draw of the 3, get the two lower sides in the next fortnight, chance to win and hopefully boost percentage, and set up a Rd 18 tilt for the 5.

B Grade
Salisbury have locked away top spot with a soft last 3 weeks.
Hope Valley & Kenilworth should fill in the next two spots.
Pulteney could well slump to 5th, but an elimination final vs Lockleys seems a formality from here.

Eastern Park coughed up 12 goals in the 4th quarter last week and this week kick 9 them selves. Not many times you see any team kick that many in a quarter and still lose....

All the best to the lad from TOS B Grade today. Dislocated ankle and at least one break surely. Game was stopped for more than a quarter including halftime for the ambulance.

Also an interesting kick for goal when play resumed.
Trinity had a free kick before the player called for the stretcher in the 2nd quarter kicking to the Northern end.
Play stopped and resumed late in the 3rd quarter.
Trinity took the free kick to resume play and kicked a goal to the Northern end which was now Hope Valleys end.
Any umpiring boffins want to decide whether it should be a Trinity goal or a HV point?

As the 2nd quarter ended, Halftime was taken, and play resumed late in the 3rd, I would have thought play would have started from the centre circle?

If the decision to give Trinity the ball is the right one, then they should have started at their end with the kick. If he missed the goal, then what? Hope Valley full back runs out, plays on and turns around and kicks a goal? Trinity we’re going the other way in that quarter. Was a strange one

If it was even going to remotely make a difference to the outcome, it would probably be important to get it right.

In this case.....

Where was the player in relation to the free kick? Wouldn't it be logical to allow the kick to be taken after the half time siren?

Kick is taken from the correct position with no chance of play on if it falls short etc
