A crows team could look something like the below. mcHenry has been injured so hasnt played the 3 after June 30 but could play if fit on permit.

F Himmelberg Strachan Stengle
HF Macadam Fogarty Wright
C Jones Wilson Davis
HB Hamil Butts Sholl
B Davey Otten Merrett

Ruck Inter
Jacobs Latchford
Poholke Hutcheson
Gallucci McHenry if fit with permit otherwise another top up

I have no concern over Port not playing to win .. On their FB supporter page last night there were several posts wanting qualification for the Magpies to be the main priority - I don't think most of them understood the qualification requirements, but it showed they still want a premiership at either/both levels and KT would be well aware of that too.

Surely if the Crows are out of AFL finals contention they’re not playing Himmelberg, Stengle, Fogarty or Jacobs in the SANFL?

I can't remember exactly, but it's along the lines of playing at least x amount of SANFL games AND having played more SANFL than AFL

So after ignoring the SANFL all season the smears fans are suddenly interested - and they want to see the smearpies stacked with as many AFL players as possible.

I think Todd Marshall will qualify too. 11 SANFL games, 9 AFL games, played Rounds 13-15 after Jun 30.

Looking at those lists of qualified players, both Adelaide and Port Adelaide will be competitive in the finals. Not sure who I'd pick in the QF as yet, hard to split it!

Back to this coming week, I wouldn't like to be South relying on us winning at Unley. Of course the guys who go out there will be expected to perform as others have said, but I think there's every chance we will rest at least a couple of players with niggles. Of course, South are no certainty to beat Adelaide, though Adelaide don't have anything on this game either. So for me, Sturt and Norwood to be through and play the Elimination Final.
No Surrender!

I don’t support anyone since the death of the Magpies but I still watch and go to several random games.
Kids play 2 mini league games plus get tickets to several other games.
So I been to 5-6 games this year.
Going to the westies v legs blockbuster Friday night as son is playing mini league.

There is no rules about 8 AFL games. They qualify as long as they have played more SANFL than AFL and 3 games after June 30. Its also 17 AFL players not 16. Or 16+Marquee player.

The SANFL plays 18 rounds, as such if if you have played more than 8 AFL games ( 9 ) there's only 9 SANFL games you could play in therefore you can't have played more SANFL than AFL = ineligible.

The easiest way to look at it is more than 8 AFL games = ineligible.

I've gone with 16 including Sutcliffe as I'm not sure if he is listed as an AFL or marquee at this point.
