"Half a billion"

Think that might be a typo.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Potentially you wouldn't put it pass it.

Its no great secret and even Port people understand their position, rightly or wrongly they decided to use surplus funds to beef up their footy department which would in turn increase performance which would increase attendence/memberships/sponsorships and THEN they would be able to reduce debt.

However there was a cliff coming if the above didn't succeed and that is where they are now, poor performance on and off field and large debt.

Im just very surprised that the footy media have allowed them to get away with it, with very little reporting about their financial situation, perhaps presuming wrongly it was all ok. Even stranger when you have a so called financial wizz as your President.

KT must be drafting his resignation letter surely, they need new direction IMO.

TBH he would have to have them finish top 4 next year with an upward trajectory, in his 8th year at the club, to coach any further IMO. As shown with Scott and Richardson, these is an expiry date on every coach.

You make a good point and I will mainly ask Port people but if Koch as president can't/doesn't/hasn't improved Ports financial situation does he have a place as president of the club.

I would think his bare minimum given his background would be improving the clubs finances.

I wonder if Kochie's financial nous has been overestimated a little?

He was a financial journalist, rather than a financial adviser, after all.

Still, you can't blame one person for Port's plight.

All part of the plan, you can't go into finals on the back of a 4 game winning streak, we we're peaking too early, we planned on falling into the finals and then getting Sutcliffe back in to tag Pendles.

I thought about this yesterday, do you really think an assistant interviewing for a senior job elsewhere is something to be worried about?

Please Dutchy.....
