Na I'm all good. Minor premiers, double chance, flog pies at MCG first week of finals. Life is good.

I always thought the match-day catering at the 'G was questionable, but that's just gross.

Yeah, me too, should never have lost. But the silver lining (sort of) is that Sunday night proved how awesome test match cricket can be, clearly the superior format of the game.

At what age did fellow posters think it appropriate enough for their kids to stay home on their own for a few hours?

9-10 if popping down the shops etc...knowing they had access to a phone to contact us if required and not to answer the door under any circumstances (made it awkward one day when the grandparents did a drop in  )

1 out or the two of them together?

1 out - probably 11 or 12.

2 together - when the oldest is 11 or 12 and the youngest 8 or 9.

Both together, they're currently 9 and 10 ... The missus grew up having to fend for herself a lot from about 6 so she thinks they're well and truly ready. I think they probably are but it still doesn't quite sit comfortably with me.

Appreciate the responses lads

I need to know....

Postby Jim05 » Tue Aug 27, 2019 12:27 pm

About 7 or 8 we would leave him home for an hour or so whilst we did the grocery shopping. Reckon that was about the same age we let him walk home from school with the neighbours and he was home for a couple of hours on his own until my wife got home.
That was about 14 years ago and not sure I’d be as comfortable with it now

Just take them to the pub with you, it’s easier and the missus won’t know!

Same. Don't answer the door, phone and stay out of the front rooms so no one can hear you in the house.
