Competition commitment

AFC to commit to ‘playing to the line’.
Will not rest players and take up elective surgery options
SANFL doctor to provide 2nd opinion on surgeries before end of season
Will commit in writing of these points, to be in Club and head coach charters.

You're 5 years too late Dutchy. The clowns blew that commitment at their first ever game at Glenelg Oval when they rested their star forward at 3/4 time with the game in the balance.

With such a huge delay between the Sturt and Smearpies games, you two should be able to meet up for a couple of beers ...

Got the forwards down the wrong end of the board!

Think Pudney comes out, has hit a bit of a wall the last month. I know he missed a few weeks with an injury but since then it looks like the debut season has caught up with him the last few weeks!

Pretty sure you will find Jacobs isn't being rested, rather has made himself unavailable because his contract is up in the air. I hadn't remembered this myself, but was reminded the other day that Richard Douglas did similar some years ago, refusing to make himself available for Glenelg in finals because his future beyond the season was up in the air. Personally, I hope Jacobs never plays for the AFC again.

Jacobs is absolutely doing the right thing. Crows are the ones forcing him out and if he has spoken to suitors I’m sure they have advised him not to play SANFL finals

Jacobs is still contracted to the AFC and therefore should be playing today. The AFC have not forced him out. They have reportedly offered him a one year contract. If he can get a better deal than that, good luck to him, but right now he is still a contracted AFC player. I hope and fully expect that any offer on the table for Jacobs from the AFC is now withdrawn and he is left to take his chances elsewhere.

I appreciate the sentiment matt35 in ideal world I would agree with you but the AFC (the team I support at AFL level too) don't give a flap about the SANFL. They don't care if they win or lose tonight or even if they went on to win the SANFL premiership. This is their reserves their developmental side the end result is meaningless.

Sam Jacobs is out of favour at the Crows spending a significant period in the SANFL this year at the expense of ROB and clearly was only really re-called late in the season to shop him for a potential trade. Both the club and the player (who knows he's on the outer) wouldn't want to risk injury ahead of a potential trade to another club. It's understandable that Jacobs won't be playing.
