Yes we forfeited due to injuries, unavailabilities and a volleyball tournament. Numbers have been a problem all season and we have often played with 14 to 17 players but Sunday was the first time we've forfeited. The trip to North Haven probably also a factor. Have no idea what you are talking about with your other point.

I couldn't believe how big the tournament was, my lad wanted me to pick him up form Kensington straight after his semi, take him to Plympton to play 3 quarters and then rush back to Kensington for the Grand Final if they were to win their semi.

Volleyball is huge in schools, he's off to Queensland in November for the nationals.

The volleyball thing has been a big issue for us at this time of year for many years. A big chunk of our junior players attend Brighton High which is a volleyball specialty school and most of the really good footballers tend to be in the elite volleyball program.

1 6 team div had 3 big margins in terms of losses and 1 6 team had a forfeit.

Thoughts on looking at changing it to an under 17 grade? as it seems many of the lads get to Sunday am and cant be bothered, especially some south western clubs.

PHOS no team, SHOCS no team, Edwardstown forfeit and Brighton start with 16 and end up with 14 on the field.

Pretty hard to have under 17's when there's an under 16.5 competition already. A pitfall of AdFL and SANFL not being under the same banner, there's no right or wrong answer.

Seems the young blokes aren't to keen to run a lap off the oval these days, and its seems to be getting worse every year.
What's people's thoughts on say 15.5/ 17.5 age groups would that help more clubs have senior colts.

DTH - at the top level of their school program in each year level is a very good standard, the underbelly however is of a poor standard and hurts other local sporting codes.
Know of someone who gave up playing A grade as they had been accepted into the volleyball program as part of their enrollment (although volleyball wasn't his sport) and had to go interstate to play for them, hurt his knee on the first day and sat out the rest of the week. Due to his limited height he isn't going very far in volleyball. Had trouble for the next few months.

Changing age groups will make the young lads drop out earlier, IMO.

Young lad at work kicked the winner for Golden Grove to get them into the GF. He's a good kid, hope they get up in a couple of weeks time.

4 for blue which only had 6 teams so should be the same for red.
