Sturt - $2.00
Norwood - $1.80

Norwood’s price looks really juicy...

Sturts win last week was their first win against any of the finalist's all year.

They had a perfect 10-0 record against the bottom 5 teams

When are the SANFULL going to wake up and play these final games at suburban grounds for some decent atmosphere.
Most first game followers like me will leave after their match.
In my opinion all grounds are largely underused over the year and supporters would rather turn up for minor finals at home or away than AO.
As usual to me the SANFULL will eventually get this message.

Nope.

Most SANFL fans would rather this be at AO.

If you think the grounds are underused check with any groundsman. Most are still used at this time of the year for finals, training, conversion to cricket etc.

The SANFL gets feedback from its constituent clubs regarding all these matters. All clubs want the games at Adelaide Oval.

I see your point DOC,
but as far as I know no cricket at
Noarlunga,
Norwood
Unley,
Elizabeth
Alberton.
Perhaps your are right the clubs don't want finals at home
(with the income and exposure for their sponsors) then agreed,
my 'faux pas'.
I still reckon considering the major cost to maintain the ovals and pay staff for 6 months or
for 12 months for the above 5 clubs, a new potential clubs income stream is being wasted.
Mind you they do sit idle for split rounds and byes for so many wasted Saturdays during the footy season.
Again I am ONLY talking about league games usage, when the clubs grounds are fully dressed up to showcase their product.
Another point for me is the related starting times outcome at AO.
I prefer a 2.10 or 2.20 time start on Saturday not eating into my other evening weekend commitments.
I guess if supporters want AO for these minor finals then they should get their wish.

Agree finals should be played at suburban grounds, try something different, do it for a year, if it doesn't work change it back to AO.

I reckon Richmond is perfect, reasonably central, imagine 10k in there on the terraces, it would be a fantastic atmosphere.

The ovals gets smashed during winter, 13/14/15/16/18's all year boys and girls training/games and some host school footy carvinals along with some college games.

The clubs might like it but what about the supporters ? Would be a magnificent atmosphere . Forget a neutral ground but clubs should be rewarded with home finals . To me its a no brainer . Gate receipts can be shared and catering profits can be weighted in favour of the home club. Plus it is a much better look on TV .

I'm one for home finals. Works a treat in the Amateur league, clubs pay a fee to the league and they reap in the bbq and beer profits.

And if all 3 grades make it, play a triple header at the venue.

Richmond and Prospect Ovals would be the ideal for finals. Elizabeth and Noarlunga would result in 15%-20% less attendance.

Finals at suburban grounds?
I'd rather the run on Adelaide oval, considering that's where the Grand Final is played.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

I think neutrality for finals is important. Centrality is also important - as stated above, trekking out to Noarlunga/Elizabeth would kill the appeal for some. One could stage finals at one of the inner city ovals - Norwood, Richmond, maybe Prossy - but this opens up a can of worms: if Norwood/North/West is playing then the neutrality is compromised; nor should Norwood/North/West consistently benefit from turnover due to attendance when Centrals/South continually miss out. Thebby might work, if the oval was both A) unused in September and B) up to standard.

The upgrades to Adelaide Oval have essentially ruined it as a SANFL venue - but despite this it remains the best option for finals, being central, neutral and up to standard.

If that’s the only final played there then no club would be disadvantaged by not getting a run there sooner.

I’m not particularly fussed on the issue, but do think it’s worrh giving it a go for a season or two to find out.

Good points but with a true Home and Away draw, unlike the AFL fixture, why not reward the teams who finishes above their respective opponents. Its not that hard to get to Noarlunga or Elizabeth, just stock up on stab proof vests if your catchin the train in.
