Well done to Hope Valley winning by 7 points. Too good today and were outstanding.

If think the difference, was first 10m of second term. The fullback played Hellmanns from in front and he took 4 uncontested marks over the back with a strong breeze, then the move finally came and he had a new match up. I think Hope Valley pressure and tackling was intense for 4q and didn't allow Kenilworth took much room. Also believe Hope Valley had more run in the last Quarter while Kenilworth where cramping up, probably from the injuries they sustained and had less rotations. Good luck to both sides next week.

Today’s winners;

- Hope Valley in an inspirational performance!
- Pulteney with a huge second half.
- Kenilworth’s bar takings courtesy of the Salisbury A grade.
- The Tonsley Hotel courtesy of the Salisbury A grade kicking on.
- The Uber driver who will get a $110 fare when he picks up the Salisbury A graders who are currently passed out on South Rd in front of Mitzubishisi’s
- Any car detailer who charges $200 to clean up the mess from the Salisbury A graders in that Uber vehicle!

How old is lee duggan? Best in the first final and 2nd best today - fair effort considering he played against us back in the 2008 grand final.

From that Grand final side, Only one left from that side still playing in the "A" grade, Gower playing in the "B' grade and Hoffy, Bazz, Artz, Pepper, Scott Mc playing in the "c" grade. Duggy deserve a Premiership medal more than anyone, stayed loyal to the club for many years, Could have gone any where for money played in 3 "A' Grand finals for no win. They are hard to win and we hope it is fourth time lucky for him.

Congrats to Hope Valley on the A grade result yesterday- that’s huge and certainly was unexpected! Earn promotion to D4, well done and good luck in a fortnight’s time.

Similarly congrats to Salisbury B grade - but no surprise there they’ve been amazing all season, and Bilney is one of the most dominant forwards going around..

Finally well done to Lockleys - they’re a better unit than during the year, thought we had them on the ropes at 3/4 time but they responded - clearly a group of lads who play for each other and for the coach. Dickie chopped us to shreds and Oliver up forward came alive when the game was to be won.

Good luck to all sides in the rest of the finals series - cricket season now...

I’m out

Lessons learned from Saturday..

Lockleys
Cunningham is the best lock down defender in the division.
Martinello makes Lockleys a fair better side, his ruck work is first class.
Someone needs to tell was it Rogers(?) that tucking your jumper into your shorts and pulling them up to your tits is a bad look.
They'll never win key finals until they learn to instil a better work rate and greater defensive mindset.

Pulteney
Need to play 4 quarters to win - putrid after 1/4 time.
Tucker was exceptional.
Lazy midfield.
Polec played best game for the season.

Kilburn
Good food, good beer, good hospitality.
Galbraith is over rated... Bedgegood's name can be found on the honour boards inside more than his.
Centre square was hard as a rock, but still one of the best places to play finals footy.. cars around the oval add extra.
Steak sandwich with the lot, and the hot chips.. wonderfully good.

Others:
Lockleys should win this week in the B grade.
Furthermore, wouldn't suprise if their C grade reversed the result of last week against Pulteney - they were tidy in patches.
Thoughts go out to the Salisbury leg with the suspected broken shin - an absolutely terrible way to have your season end, especially in a final. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Did you watch the game? I would had Sam Pemble and Jamie Dowling in the best 3, Sandrey and Duggy played well but the other two would have been in front of them, I suppose everyone sees the game differently.

I saw the game and after a fairly slow start with a strong wind Kenilworth had set themselves up nicely for a 4 or 5 goal qtr time lead when they led 4 goals to 1 with time for another 2 or 3 goals with the breeze before the siren. But HV won the game in the next 15 minutes. The last 5 mins of the first when they kicked a further 2 into it and the first 10 mins of the 2nd when they kicked 5 without Kenilworth getting close to scoring. 7 goals to zip in a short space of time broke the back of Kenilworth and even though they did their best to to get back into the game were always playing catch up knowing that HV were coming home with a breeze that was still fairly strong. Sandery was exceptional. He looked as though he had used up his tickets during the 3rd after a big first half but came home strong in the last. Pemble was very impressive. Deadly left foot coming out of defence and some very good decision making when kicking out. A few of the big name Kenilworth players looked intent on playing their normal flashy style and didn't bring finals intensity. One forward in particular who toe poked balls instead of bending down to pick them up or tapped the ball in front of him looking for free kicks. He offers good voice and instruction to his teammates but you've at least got to practice what you preach. The one KW player who did play as though his life depended on it was Clarke. Clearly their best.

The Salisbury lad has a broken tibia/fibula. Our lad from the same game has a ruptured ACL. Haven't heard anything about the Pulteney lad from the A's.

Spoke to him Sunday, obviously had a thumping headache, and hadn't got out of bed and tried to walk at that stage. Fair to say his concussion is pretty severe.

Second concussion for the season (both against Lockleys as well), he wont be back this year.
