Opening partnerships of 2 ,13 ,11 ,13 ,12 ,10 and 1. Warner with 2 ,8 ,3 ,5 ,61,0 ,0.

Something has to change at the top of the order, Harris looks better than Bancroft, perhaps Labuschagne will end up at the top of the order with Harris, he looks organised enough.

Wonder if Warner will make the transition down the order if they can find a decent opening partnership. I’d rather him at 6 than Wade

Well it clearly has. Smith was wearing the neck protectors on his helmet yesterday, he'd mentioned he'd worn them in the nets and wasn't comfortable in them so he'd not worn them in a match. That changed after getting hit.

It hasn't impacted on his ability to score runs, however.

Agree you could even see at times Smith was batting on his heels which isn't ideal but Smith's hand/eye/muscle memory is just that good......his a freak.

Wouldve been man of the match at Headingley if we win the Test, wasn't his fault Paine is the worst captain in our entire Test history

Think Hazelwood (9 wickets) and Labuschagne (170 + runs) had him covered TBH for MOTM if we won.

My problem with Warner ATM is that after all he's been through (especially the off-field scrutiny) he is currently a shot-duck mentally.

Test cricket is too hard especially as an opener in England to perform anywhere near your best if your mind is scrambled. At his best he is arguably our 2nd best batter and 1st choice opener right now he isn't but I'll back him in to bounce back and be our best opener this summer.

PS KIm Hughes at Leeds in 1981 was our captaincy nadir.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Back? I've always hated the flog. Piss him off for good and I'll start watching cricket again.
So you've seen everything have you?

Warner is 5/32 vs Broad from 14.2 overs this series

Has completely got the wood on him. Inside his head now.

Because probably not long after that he moved there on a British Passport and qualified under the residency requirements which I think is 4 years.

Kevin Peitersen got in the same way....

Agree on Paine but Josh gets the nod if we get one more wicket and win that test. Hasn't gotten past the first over about four times now. Even Shaun Marsh could do better than what Warner has this series. I'm not a Warner basher by any means but you are defending the indefensible on this occasion.

Warner - 7 innings, 79 runs, highest score of 61.. average of 11.28.

Must come under scrutiny. Yes his 61 was a good knock - he battled through a very difficult period, could easily have been out for less than 10 - but we cant afford to have guys failing to last 5 overs.

No free rides here no matter how good he is - put him under the pump, see if he responds.

I don't have a problem with those last four - if you migrated as a child then why would you play for your old country?

England have had a few though now who've only moved to England as adults, e.g. Pietersen, Trott, Archer - players for whom you'd think it'd be more logical to play for their country of birth.
