On twitter one of the people I follow said "Great to hear on Triple M about Tex and Ellie! Congratulations!"

If it's what I assume it is, best wishes to them both.

I’m sure Jake Lever would have a field day on Twitter if Tex was ever traded.

You can label Tex many things but you cannot question his love for his club, he would be more disappointed as anyone with his form last season and that he feels a need to step down as skipper.

This is true, Walker in my opinion is an absolute idiot, but he steered the club through a very difficult time after the passing of Phil Walsh.

Unfortunately that has left him emotionally drained, so this is a good move from him, he can get back to concentrating on playing.

Not to mention losing a Grand Final, crap that has occurred at the club and losing a baby all in a relatively short period.

Good luck to him

I cant stand Walker, I think his an absolute knob and an overrated footballer.

BUT

In fairness to the bloke he has been through more in recent times than you would wish on your worst enemy. He hasn't committee any crimes, he hasn't gone on a drug bender, he hasn't gone and king hit someone from behind.

He can definitely hold his head up high and be proud of how he dealt with his traumatic times.

I don't like him but I have respect for him and if more people could handle themselves the way he has the world would be a better place.

Heard on the grapevine yesterday that the Crows are far from happy with Mattner’s performance as assistant coach & are looking at getting him out of the box ASAP & into another “role”. They’re looking at replacing him with Woodville West Torrens first year coach Sam Lonergan.

The eagles wouldn’t be too happy losing 2 coaches in 2 years to the crows if true.

I don't think they were too unhappy losing the first one.
