I'm going to Event Cinemas, Hindley St, Friday October 11th.

Metallica S&M 2

As many of you know, we were blown away by the response to S&M² when we announced the first – and then second – show this past spring. For those of you who can't attend either of the gigs in the Bay Area, we still want to share this unique performance with you. On October 9th, we are psyched to be bringing you S&M², a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the original S&M concerts, album, and film that also commemorates the grand opening of the state-of-the-art Chase Center, a historic addition to San Francisco's waterfront. This one-night-only event will be shown in over 3,000 movie theaters around the world!

Recorded live on September 6th & 8th, S&M² will see us joining forces once again with the San Francisco Symphony, led in part by legendary conductor Michael Tilson Thomas as he kicks off his final season. We'll be performing several tracks from the original '99 S&M release as well as symphonic versions of new songs released since then.

The Gov is a great live venue the sound everything. I went and saw Cradle of Filth there last night seeing them for the first time I had a great viewing spot over near the second bar area (which was closed) could see singer Dani Filth and keyboardist Lindsay Schoolcraft perfectly. Their lead guitarist Marek Smerda is a real character saluting the crowd during and after solos. To be honest I've never seen a band as technically impressive as they are, great night.

They even played their Cruelty and The Beast album in full for it's 20th Anniversary (21st really) and finished the night with their classic song Her Ghost in the Fog.

Love The Gov, hope you have a good time too.

Rose Tattoo and the Screaming Jets at the Gov on Saturday night was a good show.

But, **** The Gov, $9.50 for a 425ml Pale when it's a Coopers pub is just gouging. Taking the piss, literally.

Way too pricey for a pale.

Are the Tatts still up to snuff?

Angry, who told us he's 72, still put's on a good show but I'd have to say the mixing wasn't great during the Tatts set.

Musically, as you would expect from veteran professionals, it was superb, they are as tight as tight gets and John Watson on the skins is as crisp and pure as a drummer gets and Pritchard on slide knows how to play his flying V.

Pity the vocal/mix wasn't great, could have been better.

I hope he talks less these days. The last time I saw them supporting the REAL Angels when Doc was around at Thebby the angry little man just kept preaching angry racist crap between songs in his orange overalls. A shame as I love the Tatts sound with the slide guitar at their best.

Alcohol rehab I'm guessing? Everything I've read doesn't specify what kind of rehab. Glad I didn't buy a ticket for Adelaide Oval keeping the cash for my holiday and anyway nothing will top when I saw them at the Entertainment centre (night one) in 2010.

Yes, I think it would be for alcohol abuse.
