What a great position we are now in! Weather permitting hopefully we don't f**k it up this time and we execute better than we did at Headingly.

Yep that's what worries me. Need to get Stokes in early and be right at him. Get Stokes and the urn stays with Australia.

Steve Smith dismissed first innings reverse sweeping
Dropped by Ben Stokes playing the reverse in the second innings
So he was almost out twice in a Test reverse sweeping
I cant recall any Test batman out twice in a test with this mode of disMissAL

We can to an extent compare the Blonde Don to Don Bradman
We could even call Don Bradman the Brunette Steve
However, Steve Smith needs to practice up on reverse sweeping
If he perfects the shot , we can then call him the Blonde Maxwell

Hopefully Archer was watching a real bowler in action last night.

Been informed of this
Twice in Test cricket Steve Smith has been dismissed reverse sweeping when he has made a double ton against England
Both times the bowler was Joe Root

How much bowling would an Australian batsman actually face in the nets? No way any of the bowlers in the actual 11 would be bowling

Agree absolutely hate the wangers! It doesn't even feel close to batting in the middle.

To a lesser extent I also despise bowling machines unless im just looking to fell some ball on the bat

Bowled him a few jaffas this series. Hes a star.

Another miracle needed for england, surely we have used all of them up.

Batrman, regarding your batting, what's happened to Malan and Stoneman? I thought they showed a little bit in the last Ashes series here, certainly better than Roy, Denley (who is a trier but not really up to it) and Buttler.

Malan is averaging 56 in Div 2 county this year, certainly a bit stiff to be behind Denly and Roy. He does have some issues with the swinging ball though which was shown in New Zealand and the home tests he played. Stoneman can barely buy a run since that ashes.

One wonders how England will play this tonight.

will they come out with an attitude to get the win.

will they come out and play for a draw and risk putting all the eggs in the basket for the final test

either way could cost them the ashes, i think personally they will come up and go for the win

Do you think he would have listened to Kevin Bloody more than John Buchanan as coach?

Absolutely, it is unusual that have stuck with the top 6/7 in the 4 matches so far.

And just to be annoying it's Dawid Malan, not David.

No, don't think they will, being two down, and those being Root and Burns.

And @ northerner - no excuses for Lyon tonight on the last day. Can't put the last test down to him coz that test finished mid-way through day four - well before the Poms even started their second innings this test.
