Woody is 100% staying at Eastern park and hasn’t even thought about leaving for a second, he’s actually the one pressing the rest of the boys to start training and trying to recruit a few more blokes at the same time! Nothing set in stone yet but don’t be surprised if the only other player at central United that’s been close to Woody’s level over recent years, ends up playing for EP this year with hope of a div 1 flag! Leave that one with you to think about :)

For those players that aren't interested in having to wear a helmet this coming year, then feel free to come on out to Sandy Creek Cricket Club. The BLCA aren't implementing the rule for this upcoming season. PM me for more info and if you're interested in coming and playing some turf cricket

Hopefully they get it, Colby not overly confident though!

Would be a shame if we ever lost that great club.

Great bunch of blokes

Play the game in the exact spirit it should be

Always the first to have a drink with you after a game or invite you for a drink.

Never had a single concern around umpires cheating bending the rules etc

Despite not having juniors have always managed to front up and be competitive

Have improved their ground over the years and take great pride in it, always in great nick

Still in great nick with Colby out there with the whipper snipper and blower vac working on the pitch before each days play. Outfield is in great condition and now there is a few trees out there so you get a bit of shade.

As I get older I look at Riverside and think if I had a son I would pretty happy if he ended up playing cricket a bunch of blokes like that, rather than some of the riff at other clubs hahaha.

They could get it, won’t matter for PDCA - it’s a dictatorship.

No one can give a straight answer though, so many twisted truths and blame.. PDCA claim SACA directive to make compulsory, SACA say only recommendation strongly advised from CA.

SACA endorse and support the compulsory rule
PDCA claim no choice
SAMCA adopting PDCA policy

Everyone wants to look like the good cop in a tricky situation.. my gut feel is PDCA are full of shit, made the rule and deflected the blame to avoid the backlash.

Those not introducing the policy are only delaying the inevitable. Will be advised for the next couple and then compulsory after that. It's how all slow large scale policy is implemented.

Let's be serious, there really isnt much need to introduce a policy - it's mandatory for kids to wear them, has been for years - in a few years time the old codgers will move on and the youth will come through and continue to wear their helmets.
