Junior qualifications , has any one noticed or know of any dodgy qualifications , For a long time I have pushed for 7 game qualification for junior footy thus taking away the practice of naming a player on a team sheet who may or may not have been playing for college footy or playing in second side (Sunday)

Sorry if it sounds trivial BUT it happens because SOME coaches play for sheep stations and will bend or even cheat to get a result .

Not really really trivial... Brighton played the system for ages with their league and college kids.

6 games qualification is OK for a 16 game season IMO, esp when you compare to only 4 for seniors.

Are you saying players are getting named to qualify but aren't at the game? Wouldn't be hard to work out if the opposing team manager is on the ball.

I think Sunday comp need looking at too.
Christies dropped kids that had played all year for the Sunday 15's so they could play 5 that played on Saturday. Some miss out on a GF while others might play 2.

Well if "playing the system" is legitimately qualifying players by having them actually play when their name is on a team sheet then nothing for me to see or say here. It was our club who pushed for the eligibility rule from 4 games to 6 games to ensure that clubs couldn't try and squeeze 4 games out of a regular SANFL U17/U18 player when their SANFL team had Byes.

I watched Noarlunga on the weekend, they are one of the best non SANFL sides I've seen. Obviously Flaggies were very good in years previous, I'm relatively new to the SFL. Which team was regarded as the greatest in SFL history? Where does 2019 Noarlunga rank?

Noarlunga played Aldinga not sure that is much of a guide as to how good Noarlunga are. I might suggest you go and watch some Div 1 and 2 SAAFL footy, which is streets ahead of all the SFL. good as Noarlunga are in the SFL they would not hold a candle to an SANFL Reserves team.

As far as Noarlunga being in div 5 and Flaggies being in div 3 you have also lost your marbles. BDOS who were a very respected team in the SFL are doing ok in Div 1 Ammos, but the team that they are playing with most weeks still has very similar names as when they were playing in the SFL and they certainly were up in the top bracket of teams but they were not dominating then. The Flaggies team of the last 3 years would beat that BDOS side. As for the shoes current side which would have to be current favorites for this years SFL premiership would beat that BDOS team also.

On the topic of Brighton, I would suggest we are stronger than the team that finished 2nd and 3rd in our last 2 seasons in the SFL but not by alot. It's not so much the top end talent but also the quality of players 16 to 21 selected each week and that is where we have got stronger in my opinion. But it's all relative and also comes down to sustaining effort and having the depth to keep you competitive through a full season rather than just lining up the best 21 players from 2 clubs in separate leagues and picking who the best team is.

Vics01 was at our game on Saturday so he might have a neutral observation on what a Division 1 match looked like to him.

Having watched both the SAAFL and the SFL in the last three years they have different styles of footy. SAAFL is a more open faster running game. SFL is more of a stoppage contested game.
More structure in SAAFL than SFL.
My view is that Noarlunga and Flaggies would likely start OK in Div 3 it would take them a couple of years to adjust to the game style. BDOS have improved a lot in the last two years both in adapting and player quality
DIV 1 SAAFL sides would easily account for the top couple of SFL sides. I believe that DIV 2 sides would also in most cases account for the top couple of SFL sides. Aside from Noarlunga and Flaggies going ok in Div 3. At the present time the rest for be Div 5 or below.

Its all subjective but are saying that Brighton were better than the current Noarlunga/Flaggies when they went to AdFL? These 2 teams are easily Div 2 standard.

We play Goody Saint every year in a trial and more than go OK against them.

Dutchy reality is you play maybe 1 competitive every 3 weeks. SAAFL every game is copetitive where bottom can beat others on a given day. SFL does not have that. SFL does not have to be on their game every week to win.

A trial is a lot different to the real thing. May get out and watch some DIV 1/2/3 footy and get an understanding as to where Flaggies would really sit.
