The 36ers won the third and final game of their pre-season trip to WA beating the Perth Wildcats 83-77 today in Joondalup. Leading the Sixers top scorers were Jack McVeigh with 18 and Harry Froling with 14 and for the Wildcats Rhys Vague scored 16 and Jesse Wagstaff added 14 points.

Also today the Brisbane Bullets defeated Melbourne United 102-80 in Melbourne. Top scorers for the Bullets were Taylor Braun with 22 and Jason Cadee & Lamar Patterson each scored 17 points and for United Shawn Long scored 22 points, Jo Lual-Acuil had 16 and Casey Prather 15.

Finally today the South-East Melbourne Phoenix beat the Cairns Taipans 93-80 in Kilsyth. Top scorers for the Phoenix were Tai Wesley with 21 points and Ben Ursich with 13 and for the Taipans Cameron Oliver scored 24 and Kouat Noi had 16 points.

A couple of NBL pre-season games tonight Melbourne United beat the Illawarra Hawks 111-70 in Ballarat. Top scorers for United were Casey Prather with 31 points and Shawn Long added 15 and for the Hawks LaMelo Ball scored 14 points and AJ Ogilvy had 12 points.

In the other game the Cairns Taipans beat the Brisbane Bullets 104-66 in Cairns. No top scorers have yet been listed.

A couple of pre-season games today the Illawarra hawks beat the South-East Melbourne Phoenix 109-98 in Albury-Wodonga. Top scorers for the Hawks were Josh Boone with 22 points and LaMelo Ball with 21 points and for the Phoenix Ben Madgen & John Roberson each scored 18, Tai Wesley had 17 points and Kendall Stephens added 16.

The Cairns Taipans beat the Brisbane Bullets 76-66 in Cairns today. Top scorers for the Taipans were development player Tad Dufelmeier & DJ Newbill each with 16 points and the Bullets were led by Lamar Patterson with 21 points.

Also last night the Sydney Kings beat the Hills Hornets 109-67 in Castle Hill. Top scorers for the Kings were Craig Moller with 22 points and Jae'Sean Tate with 20 points and for the Hornets Paul Brotherson had 15 and Adrian Cabrera 11 points.

The 36ers are in action tomorrow night on Day 1 of the NBL Blitz pre-season tournament in Tasmania. The Blitz games will be streamed live on the NBL's Facebook page & Twitch channel.

Tonight on Day 1 of the NBL Blitz the 36ers lost to the Cairns Taipans 100-99 on a tip-in at the buzzer from Nathan Jawai. Top scorers for the Taipans were DJ Newbill with 18 points and Cameron Oliver with 14 and for the Sixers Daniel Johnson scored 27 points and Harry Froling & Ramone Moore each scored 13.

In the first game the Brisbane Bullets beat the NBL1 All-Stars 106-57. For the Bullets EJ Singler scored 19, Will Magnay 17 and Matt Hodgson 16 points and for the NBL1 team Isaac Turner scored 14 points and Dain Swetalla 13.

Three games tonight at Day 2 of the Blitz firstly the Illawarra Hawks beat the Perth Wildcats 122-119 in OT. Top scorers for the Hawks were Todd Blanchfield with 23, Aaron Brooks scored 20 points and LaMelo Ball had 19 and for the Wildcats Bryce Cotton scored 27 points and Terrico White had 18 points.

In the second game the South-East Melbourne Phoenix beat the Sydney Kings 96-87. For the Phoenix John Roberson scored 31 points and Tai Wesley had 20 points and for the Kings Casper Ware scored 19 and Didi Louzada added 13 points.

In the final game the NZ Breakers beat Melbourne United 97-76. Top scorers for the Breakers were Corey Webster with 24 points, Scotty Hopson scored 22 points and Sek Henry added 17 and for United Shawn Long scored 24 points and Melo Trimble had 22.

Also the NZ Breakers have announced they've signed Ethan Rusbatch a 6'5" swingman. Rusbatch joins the Breakers for his second stint with the team after being a development player in the 2016-17 season he just played for the Tall Blacks in the World Cup and plays for Hawke's Bay in the NZ league.

Day 3 action at the Blitz tonight the 36ers lost to the Brisbane Bullets 92-85. Top scorers for the Bullets were Lamar Patterson with 20 points, Matt Hodgson with 18 and Nathan Sobey with 16 points and for the Sixers Deshon Taylor scored 23 points and Eric Griffin added 14.

In the first game the Cairns Taipans beat the NBL1 All-Stars 87-68. Leading the Taipans were Majok Deng with 18 and Kouat Noi with 17 and Issac Turner scored 21 for the NBL1 team.

Final day today Day 4 at the Blitz South-East Melbourne beat NZ Breakers 102-95. Top scorers for the Phoenix were Tai Wesley with 23 and Kyle Adnam with 17 and for the Breakers RJ Hampton scored 20 points and Scotty Hopson added 18.

In the second game the Sydney Kings beat the Perth Wildcats 103-71. Top scorers for the Kings were Didi Louzada with 29 points and Jay'Sean Tate had 15 and for the Wildcats Clint Steindl scored 17 and Dario Hunt had 15 points.

In the last game Melbourne United beat the Illawarra Hawks 108-91. Top scorers for United were Casey Prather with 23 and David Barlow with 20 and for the Hawks Angus Glover scored 17 points and Aaron Brooks had 15.

The Brisbane Bullets were declared the winners of the Loggins/Bruton Cup, Phoenix import John Roberson won the Ray Borner medal for player of the tournament, his teammate Terry Armstrong won the slam dunk comp and United's David Barlow won the 3 point shootout.

The 36ers beat the NZ Breakers in a pre-season game tonight 93-67 at Titanium Security Arena. Top scorers for the Sixers were Eric Griffin with 18 and Obi Kyei added 11 and for the Breakers RJ Hampton scored 19 points and Corey Webster had 12.

In a tight pre-season game tonight Bryce Cotton hit the game winner at the buzzer as the Perth Wildcats beat Melbourne United 92-90 in Geelong. Top scorers for the Wildcats were Nick Kay with 21 points and Clint Steindl had 19 and for United Melo Trimble scored 17 and Chris Goulding & Casey Prather each scored 16 points.

In the other game tonight the Brisbane Bullets beat the Perth Wildcats 85-82 on the Sunshine Coast. Top scorers for the Bullets were Lamar Patterson with 26 points, Jason Cadee with 18 and Nathan Sobey with 16 and for the Wildcats Clint Steindl scored 17 points and Bryce Cotton had 12.

Also last night the Sydney Kings beat the NZ Breakers 81-64 in Sydney. Leading the Kings was Casper Ware with 23 points and for the Breakers RJ Hampton top scored with 18 points.

In a pre-season game this afternoon the Sydney Kings beat the Illawarra hawks 106-96 in Wollongong. Top scorers for the Kings were Didi Louzada with 24 points and Brad Newley with 17 points and for the Hawks Aaron Brooks scored 28 points and Josh Boone added 18.

Also the NZ Breakers have announced they've released import F/C Chris Obekpa due to a lingering knee issue and have signed 6'9" PF Brandon Ashley as his replacement who played in the G-League & Cyprus last season.
