Yep we copped our right whack in the Granny , didn’t come to play ,
Rightful congratulations to Flagstaff Hill Football Club ,
To go through the whole season undefeated and drop it at the big one bloody hurts
and it should , Maybe 1 or 2 retirements at Noarlunga but plenty left in the tank to have another crack next hr

WELL DONE FLAGGIES

Yep, unqualified congrats to Flaggies on the A grade win. Outcoached, outplayed and obviously a greater desire to win than the Shoes on the day. Very impressive what they have managed to achieve over the past 4 years. Also huge congrats to the Valley Under 17.5's who really got the job done on Saturday. Effectively set up the win from the first quarter with great composure and were never headed. Played really attractive and effective footy all year and managed to execute the plan on the big stage.

The top SFL teams 10-15 years back were most likely the pick of that bunch on most occasions. You then have go go up a cog to be a top end Div 1 ammos team over 18 rounds and finals.

Would be awesome, but not practical if there was a champions of each league competition. Determine which club is the best in SA by playing the SFL, GSFL, HFL, Div 1 AdFL, RMFL, Barossa etc. Would never happen due to logistics, costs etc, but would be a great spectacle for followers of Amateur footy.

New Coach, New President, New Captain, lost 20+ players & convincingly beaten by the Shoes in all 3 meetings during the year, only just scrambling over the line in the Prelim, fair to say our backs were against the wall.

But the old saying, Clubs win premierships was never more evident, every premiership is special but this one will be remembered very very fondly.

Congrats to the 5 players that have played in every one of the 4 flags. 4 new lads got their first A grade flag on the weekend.

And congrats to our u13's - undefeated Premiers.

Well done HV in the 17.5's, came to play in the 1st quarter and it was a big hill to climb after that, with majority of our boys being bottom agers this will put a bit of fire in the belly for 2020.

Bloody hell, guess the rumours were true....

"The Cove Football Club have been advised today at 10.30am that Marion Council in a confidential meeting last night passed a resolution to terminate our occupancy at the Cove Sports and Community Club within 30 days.
A media release will be issued by Marion Council later today, which may include negative commentary directed at the Cove Football Club.
We are working with SANFL and the SFL to explore all options to challenge this decision.
We will remain united and strong to reverse this decision.

Please refrain from being negative on social media.... this will not help!

Further details to come soon - including a members meeting to be confirmed."

Soccer have always wanted to take over the venue, but for the council to formally vacant them within 30 days that means they have breached their occupancy terms in some fashion. Im sure more will come to light in the council's statement.

I was thinking if it was made during a confidential meeting of the council, then it's likely legal counsel was sought and advice given... leads me to believe Cove did done stuffed up bad somewhere..

Good to see another sport get one over an aussie rules club, i wish the Barossa Council had the same guts.

The rugby club i play for has been using Lyndoch Oval for 6-7 years now, never had an issue with the Council infact they were planning on expanding the rugby as part of the new sports precint in Tanunda which was going to include two rugby pitches.

Unfortunately the funding for that project fell through but Council have decided that Barossa Districts (aussie rules) who were going to move to Lyndoch when the rugby team moved to Tanunda will still get the Lyndoch ground leaving my rugby club without a ground to play at in 2020. Reason being they promised the aussie rules club the Lyndoch Oval and they had already started to invest in projects for that ground.

Bullshit!
