Wasnt the ride of a decent jockey, but Ive seen much worse. Horse overraced and position wise we don't know what instructions he was given by the trainer. With the benefit of hindsight (and not know whether it would suit the horses pattern) could have easily just plonked in the lead on the rail just after the dirt patch - At least then if/when it overraces he could have let it go. Copped a pretty bad check about 50-100m from the line too.

Rode for luck when he probably didn't need to. Just a split second decision, that's the game.

Can't knock the effort of the winner, missed the kick by two to three lengths. It's a blackbooker of mine on a leading effort about eight months back but that was also a stellar job from the back.

Mate, I'd do a tri and get two out of three, I'd do an exacta and I would've had the First 4 but the quinella would pay shitloads more, lucky I was using their money that I won Friday night or I would've been crying.

Whatever I done, the system found a way to piss me off.

Had a Blackbooker in an early race at Caulfield on Sat (maybe R4??) running at about $91 .. Backed it place only at $18 and it ran a real nice 3rd. Would have been in need of the run too, so could well be one to keep an eye on over the carnival.
