Redbacks vs Tassie today and Tursday at Karen Rolton Oval

Anyone heading down for a look?

Was thinking about it but looks like it will be over before i get there

QUESTION which is unrelated to this thread BUT ........

One thing that gives me the Shits is - Why does it seem that everyone calls the "Pitch" a "Wicket" ???
It annoys the shit out of me

The Pitch is the strip of turf between the "Wickets"

The "Wicket" is the wooden structure of stumps and bails.

It does my head in FFS

Just watching Qld v Vic and Peter Siddle is commentating and part of one of his thoughts on different pitches around the place was "The Wickets on different Pitches" :?
Like really WTF does that even mean? Do these clowns actually know WTF theyre talking about?
What he should've said was "The pitches on different squares or ovals or grounds around the place" or some shit like that

Meanwhile the Crapbacks are 4/44 off 11

I watched about 20 overs of the redbacks innings, white ball is 1000x easier to see than the red ball

fairly decent crowd out too

also. why the hell is the hill not all grass, seems stupid to have that plant/bark

I heard that they stuffed up the planning! The hill is too steep for lawnmowers so they couldn't put grass there haha.

Would have had to do much more levelling.

Whoopsies.

Seems to me we keep picking the same 6 or 7 batsman for the last 5 years. They take turns getting a score about once in every 6 innings that retains their place in the team just in time.
Not sure what the answer is but it isn't these blokes over and over again.
Maybe we just pick the guys that have a chance of playing for Australia and then bring in the next wave of talent and stick with them for awhile. So just Carey, Head and Weatherald, dump the rest.

Cooper has been the form batsman and Ross makes 82* and you want to dump them? :?
Thing is that others that have been given opportunities are simply not up to it

Tough to blame one person but in reality Heads pathetic dismissal may have cost them the match
Makes 30 - 40 and Crapbacks make 270+ may have seen them 2 & 1 and all looking rosy. Its a fine line

Juat watching the highlights, the way the Redbacks played suggests to me the pitch was a bit slow? Didn't matter the Ben McDermott though as he's in some good form early. Wade out going after a spin once again, obviously that's what he loves to do so will be interesting to see if he continues to play that way through the summer, especially in test match cricket.

And if you think the Redbacks dismissals were bad, watch the Vic's wickets against Queensland, there's some real bad ones in their innings.

The biggest problem continues to be consistency.. Head get crucified for yesterday and we lose, he's equally likely to come out tomorrow and cut loose and win us the game and everyone will be happy.

Same as first two games of the comp - lose the first in pathetic fashion, flip the script in the second.

So painful supporting the 'backs, you just dont know what sides going to turn up, and frustrating because our best 6's best is probably as good as any.

But that's my point though, Ross, Cooper, Lehman have been making a score just when they need to to retain their place in the team and it gets us no where. If others were given the long run in the team like those 3 have been maybe they would make it. We're not losing much by giving it a try

I think Cooper is an exception to your point, that's if you're referring to ODD's.

Our averages from last season were putrid in shield cricket.

Bowling first this time. Need to win or out of running in this comp already just about.
