Actually it turns out that I was right after all.
I just spoke a little bit too early. Indeed it HAS been 21 years since Port's last flag.
That's a VERY long time.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Nah still 20, 3 months to go then you can spruik 21. In the meantime you just sit back on your chesterfield, blow the dust of those hardback novels, brainwash your kid with anti AFL rhetoric and construct 150 word posts to justify your self belief of high intelligence.

Always good when club stalwarts get recognition for their hard work. What was the breakdown of votes?

20 years and 3 months?
So do you think Port will win a flag BEFORE the drought reaches 21?
Glad to hear you're thinking about me so much.

Well deserved, wouldn’t have been surprised if Aggers or Jesse won it though.

The AFL have asked the SANFL to:

Remove the last touch out of bounds free kick.

Increase the 25 metre penalty to 50 metres.

Reduce the salary cap.

IMO the last touch rule has clearly worked and improved the game as a spectacle in the SANFULL.

Not sure what more they can do or what more the SANFL has to lose by denying the AFL's wishes.

During the 2013 AFL Reserves debate (if it could be called that), a lot of people seemed to fear the consequences if the SANFL didn't acquiesce to the Crows and Power fielding reserves sides.

I still don't know what people thought the AFL would actually do.

Give Port and Adelaide the shittiest time slots to ensure the lowest possible crowds and least revenue to the SMA > SANFL?

Modify the rule,
no, 50 metres is too much of a penalty for minor infringements,
get rooted. Please give us a good reason why we should.

For starters, I'd imagine they'd both ark up about that, and we'd only be talking e.g. 9 Sunday graveyard games instead of 6 anyway; the AFL aren't going to completely screw over the Crows, at least.

But anyway, your response proves my point, in practice the AFL only have a few relatively small sticks with which to hit the SANFL, and avoiding them is hardly worth caving in.
