Agree, it should be more like, next time they make top 4 and challenge side, that is reality but not as sexy as saying "premiership side"

It's a bit like the supporters when their club goes into rebuild mode. Many happy clap along believing that the new talent will make them better in the long run.
Loading up on draft pics doesn't guarantee anything. All it does is provide optimism and hope (which is not a bad thing!)
We've seen enough failed rebuilds to know it can be fools gold.

Splitting hairs lads, I think most people take the line as "The next time they're a legitimate flag chance"

If you are going to measure success purely on flags, you are more often than not going to be left disappointed, unless of course you are Hawthorn.

I have played cricket as an opening batsmen for 25 years..... I have 'failed' many more times than I have succeed but it doesn't stop me aiming to hit a 100 everytime I bat.

It wont happen but the AFL need to pay Balmey to go to Gold Coast.Booney wrote:Dutchy wrote:Suns and Carlton have shown that it is not all about on field rebuild, everything needs to be rebuilt and off field is just as important.
The key roles, President, GM of Football, Coach and captain are all as important as each other.

And if you walk out with a new opening partner and say "You'll be here for my next 100" you're full of shit. Like a premiership, you don't know when, or if, it's coming.
