Eagles get Kelly and possibly some later pick swaps

How good is West Coasts midfield going to look like next year. If we can get a full year out of Nic Nat wow. Nic Nat, Kelly, Shuey, Yeo, Gaff, Redden Sheed. That’s a serious midfield. Who u gonna tag. Kelly brings that extra bit of class and kicks goals

Not happy with this as a cats fan, assume next year WCE pick would be mid/high teens. Just doesnt align with keeping Ablett, Taylor on and the recruiting done over the past 5 years (topping up). That us unless they trade picks into the early part of the draft to get a player to make instant impact ala port with Rozee last year. Dont get me wrong cats need picks to replace these older guys but losing your best player and replacing with 2 draftees next year doesnt exactly raise my hopes of going further into the finals, hence why keep the older guys on the list.

You’re not happy with two first round and a second round pick? You only used a second round pick to get him

Initially I thought we have paid overs for that, but then I realised that next year's, hopefully is a puck in the high teens as well. So it's 14, another later 1st and then an earlyish 2nd. It's ok I guess as Kelly looks a really good player.

Geelong get there 3 picks in the top 30.

Our midfield looks good with him there to add that bit of goal kicking ability.

Reckon Kelly might have a down year next year, he might get too comfortable and become complacent being back in home state

Would need to have deep talent in the draft. Just say 2 picks at 14, most of the exceptional talent is gone inside the top 10.

Surely what you used to get him becomes irrelevant considering what he has become. Arguably the hottest property in the AFL right now.

So 14 and 24 this year, likely 16-18 next year, exactly what the Cats would need with several stars at the end of their playing days.

Win/win I reckon.

I think its a fair enough deal both ways. What a bonus for the Cats he's been with what he cost!

He will get to a new club.
Most clubs have bigger priorities currently but come the end of trade week someone will offer up a pick in the 80’s for him and the Crows will pay some of his wage just to get rid of him

It means either Shuey or Kelly can play Forward Flank and deliver the ball inside 50m, replaces the loss of Rioli for WC.
Draft picks, with Geelongs current coach mean little. If Dangerfield gets injured, a lot of time will go into Selwood, who already looks half busted, or Potentially Jack Steven. Hawkins still has very little help.
