I reckon SW could have lost a few players and still been ultra competitive this season. Looks a fairly soft 'year' in div1 by the usual standards, with Virginia not looking as strong as previous years, Craigmore who had been very competitive not being there.

Hats off to Dublin for having A's and B's, both playing two dayers.Great effort

Salisbury North taking the piss and putting two one day teams in. No different to Para Vista

Units with two teams in the same grade????? Surely that's a mistake. Nope, given they're effectively dropping from Grade 1, they're only allowed a certain amount of "A graders" in a team, and they must play at the highest one day grade, therefore they're both in the same division. Means they cant load up one side.

3 clubs with 5 teams, a few with 4 teams, well done to those clubs.

I think the PDCA have done a great job accomodating teams and taking into account club circumstances.

Units would have folded in our 30th year if forced to play in Grade 1, or accept crippling restrictions to play in Grade 2/3 after being allowed to stay down prior, thats the reality of what was gonna happen.

We will scrape 22 blokes/ladies every week to go and compete with some quality sides with similar player circumstances.

Doesn't sit well with me.

Essentially what you are saying is you have a bunch of blokes who wont go play div 1 but will happily sit in div 2 being the big dogs (pun intended) doing exactly what they dont want to happen to them in div1 , to the bottom div 2 sides.

You cant go and play in a couple of div2 flags and continue to play the we dont have the players, the quality to compete at div 1.

Real ordinary and PDCA shouldn't let clubs get away with it.

Do you think SW might ever outgrow PDCA and look to have a turf pitch installed or move into another comp, especially if football continue to have the issues they have had.

I’m sure they would love to but cash flow could be an issue for the club. Got some serious cricketers down there

Yeah absolutely they do, and tbh have done so for the last 25 years i can remember.

They have led the way on all fronts whether it be A Grade performance, amount of teams, quality of juniors, association game representation.

I always find it interesting that in cricket they can run an amazing show yet the football club which has alot of the same people involved has been in a mess for years now.

I was pointing out that those 3 would more than likely make way for Dom, DJ & Haythorpe in the A's, not all 3 leaving, although I'd probably keep Kershaw in there ahead of at least one of them.

No, especially if football can't sort itself out.

Very true but oddly cricket has always been in good shape despite the issues with football. Very different to most sports clubs that run multiple sports.

Harris wearing a cap for VIC against the spinners, yet PDCA told us no player under the CA banner is allowed to wear a cap, not even against a spinner..

More bullshit rolled out just to make clubs comply with the "recommendation".

Yeah PDCA have taken a leaf out of the Adelaide Crows book of dealing with tricky situations.

I have no issue with rule PDCA have brought in and believe it is absolute imminent but they could have at least told the truth about needing to implement the rule rather than pushing some bullshit that was always going to come out in the wash.

Own it, take it pride in it and see it through, dont try and bluff people.

I wasn't a fan of the helmet rule at first (still not), but i've accepted it and will deal with it along with everyone else.. i just hate being lied to and talking crap to cover your own arse because you're scared to cop some heat.

Royals A Grade looks depleted, B's not too bad.

Craigmore has been completely decimated, A Grade is shot, B's is made up of D & E Graders from last season.

I'm hearing Eastern Park wont have a B's, robbing Sandbagger May of some easy runs.

Grade 1:
Westies in a canter, Eastern Park outright and the Pistol to lead NEK to a win in their inaugural Grade 1 match, Leonard to smash some balls around too.
Grade 2: Enfield in a good battle up the hill, Dublin just over the Royals, Pines by plenty but well done to Riverside for going with a 2 day team, a rejuvenated ATCO over a broken Craigmore, good to see Al Hewitt suiting up again.
Grade 3: Gardens will smash the Blues, Pines will have a close battle against the Vale, Smithfield don't look too bad, home ground advantage to do the trick, Westies will be too good.
