Hahaha, Danger got his man. So the two ‘contracted’ players in Daniher and Papley don’t find new homes. Yes??

If it wasn't jenkins and just a number it would be trade of the century! Pay less than half his wage and lose virtually nothing for him.
Of course it is Jenkins so it will just end up being comedy gold or a handy VFL player. Basically a back up for Ratagalea or Hawk and probably a better choice than a half fit backman like Henderson!
Still, Scott might play him on the opposite wing to Blicavs!

It would be ironic if he won a flag at Geelong after his tweet from a couple of years ago!

9 and a future first for Daniher. I would have taken that in a heartbeat for a guy that can’t get on the deck, and when he does he misses more often than not. Hope he falls in love with his x and brings his best back. Amazing player but.....

Still a very good offer. Essentially the bombers are paying a bloke who doesn’t wanna be there and will walk at seasons end. And we will get him without selling the farm

Bombers aren’t doing this without a plan.
I think we will offer him a decent extension early next year. Wouldn’t rule out us matching him if it came to that either

Foxsports:

A big Blue disaster — but Bombers show backbone: Biggest AFL trade winners and losers

WINNERS

James Gallagher, St Kilda list manager

Did someone say destination club? The Saints, under the guidance of Gallagher, were one of the biggest movers and shakers of the trade period. In came arguably the best winger in the game in Brad Hill, as well as swingman Dougal Howard, ruckman Paddy Ryder, midfielder Zak Jones and premiership small forward Dan Butler. Five targets. Five successes. Boom baby.

Adrian Dodoro, Essendon list manager

From the moment Joe Daniher asserted his desire to move to the Sydney Swans, Dodoro was emphatic the key forward would remain at Tullamarine. It seemed to be classic Dodoro posturing. Only last year the Dylan Shiel trade was orchestrated at the death. This time, however, Dodoro didn’t just have his polka face on. He meant business. Daniher will see out his contract and have the opportunity to “fall back in love” with Essendon — a Dodoro sentiment from the start. Add in Orazio Fantasia staying put and Dodoro has every right to pump his chest out.

Stephen Wells, Geelong list manager

It’s the broken record the Cats are more than happy to keep spinning. Wells has done it again. While the loss of Tim Kelly can’t be understated the Cats were handsomely compensated with picks 14, 24, 37 and a future first-round selection. Add in the fact they got four-time Saints best and fairest Jack Steven and Josh Jenkins for next to nothing and once again Geelong has just nailed it.

Sam Power, Western Bulldogs list manager

The Bulldogs stood and delivered. Their Pick 13 was never on the table and not only did they hold on to their first-round pick, but land forward Josh Bruce and defender Alex Keath at prices that would’ve delighted Power and his team.

Tim Kelly

He’s back home in Western Australia, settling into a team that is well and truly in premiership contention — and he’s a big reason why. Nicely played, Eagles.

LOSERS

Carlton

The Blues were at the forefront of discussions throughout the trade period, with Tom Papley and Jack Martin both nominating Ikon Park as their preferred destination. Neither got there. So despite Carlton securing veteran forward Eddie Betts, the club still has a bit of egg on its face. When Sydney and Essendon couldn’t get a deal done for Joe Daniher, the Papley trade was ostensibly quashed. The Suns wanted too much for Martin.

Joe Daniher

Far out. If Daniher’s last month was a rollercoaster ride, his carriage fell off the rails just as it was pulling into the station. He must be feeling flat, perhaps even angry the Swans couldn’t facilitate a deal when they’d seemingly shaken his hand. The scrutiny will only sharpen when Daniher returns to Tullamarine, where he has one year to remain on his contract before he becomes a restricted free agent.

Adelaide Crows

The last two years have been an unmitigated disaster for the Crows — and the sting was still being felt this trade period. Alex Keath, Eddie Betts, Sam Jacobs, Josh Jenkins, Cam Ellis-Yolmen and Hugh Greenwood all found new homes. That’s a massive shake up of the list. Over to you, Matthew Nicks.

Port Adelaide

While Dougal Howard mightn’t be the biggest household name, among the Power faithful he’s highly rated. Kane Cornes labelled Howard’s trade to St Kilda as a complete disaster, saying “Port Adelaide have completed botched this one in my opinion”. Cornes also suggested the club had given up too much for Ryder. The exit of Billy Frampton wasn’t as earth shattering, but the club’s inability to land Orazio Fantasia was rather flattening.
