Hold man played out there for a while and his grandparents used to run the canteen.

Going to be a crowded forward line with Big Nik, Jessen and Rhys up there, he'll probably have to add some more strings to his bow.

If he had more strings he'd still be a centrals. Talent but lazy and will never be fit. Credit to him to he has dropped some weight he had as a kid but is too slow and goes to ground all the time

Very unfair about being fit, the bloke has a pretty decent 12km time trial time. Please remember speed isnt 'fitness'

His cardio vascular fitness is pretty decent and his working on it all the time, his currently just finished his cert 3 and 4 in health and fitness and is actively working as a personal trainer and trying to add strength to the load of puppy fat he has.

Personally i think his 'laziness' comes from his success as junior purely due to his size at that age. He didn't need to win his own football as a kid, he didnt to make space etc he was just able to bully other juniors. Obviously that isnt the case anymore and he is still learning how to play a mans game.

Ex. Bute coach Craig Dawe the new coach of United. Let’s hope it goes a bit better for him at Long Plains then it did at Bute.

Good 12km time would suggest to me he's a one paced plodder. The fact is if the footy isn't delivered to him on a platter he is no good, hence goes to ground so he thinks he's having a crack to win the footy back whereas every coach will say keep your feet, if you go to ground you're out of the contest. He's a great kid and hopefully he can prove me wrong but in my opinion he will look great against Hamley bridge but useless against any real competition.

Agree that he is definitely one paced, doesn't mean a person is unfit though. Completely different which is all my point was.

Virginia with 6 new player signings! Not a bad effort by the new coach and the management team.

Who are they all?

Who have they lost other than Staple and Standley?
I also heard they off-loaded Motley and Bartlett...any truth to that?

Wouldn't that be 18 points? How many are they allowed?

Yeah, both were considered overpaid and delisted basically. Freed up space for some better recruits and when you look at the ledger, that's probably a smart move from the outside looking in.

New:
Matt Rankine (3)
Ronald Rankine (3)
Lethaniel Rigney (3)
Rhys Sutton (3)
Daniel Perkins (0)

Plus returning:
Nathan Warren (0)

Reckon there may be one or two more returning too.

Sutton was recruited on the misunderstanding he would be 0 points, under the father/son provision.

Problem is, the father/son provision only applies to club life members, which Gary is not...yet.

So I think the cue is basically in the rack re recruiting now for them.

From what I seen, Bartlett and Stanley worked really well together in the guts, both had quick hands and knew where the other one was all the time.

Stanley was a quality player when I watched him in his Port days. Albeit a lot older now, but I find it hard to beleive he would have been overpaid in this league
