Yeah, that is tragic, you shouldn't go on holidays and come home in a bag.

I'm quite the same, I wouldn't sky dive or bungee jump.

which sadly, will probably be more than the number of people that will line up to ride the tower of terror, before it closes on November 3

Just found out work didn't win the tender, I actually wasn't expecting this until April/May next year. Finish up Nov 30th.

Not ideal. But I do have 11 weeks annual leave they owe me. There may be an opportunity with the new company. Not sure who it is yet. Not all doom and gloom......just yet, but the timing isnt great, just before xmas.

My two eldest kids 10 and 8 losing their grandmother. (My ex wifes mum)

Whilst i didn't get along with her very well she was a great grandmother to my kids and they loved her very much. I was extremly close to my nan who and couldn't imagine losing her at such a young age.

Sucks that being from a divorce i cant be there for my girls on the daily through this especially considering the ex wife has her on greiving to deal with., she was as close to her mum as a mum/daughter could be.

Finding that balance between phoning the kids to check in and also giving the ex wife space etc (im sure she doesn't want to hear from me each day) is really tricky.

I can relate, after losing my step-son in a car accident after his mum and I broke up was a very difficult situation, I basically put my life on standby, took some leave and left it up to my ex and my kids to let me know what I needed to do, I was there at a drop of a hat to pick them up when required but I knew they really needed to be with their mum.

Yeah, this only happened yesterday for us so i obviously i sent my condolonces and just asked if i could speak to kids at some point yesterday. She let the kids ring me around 8pm last night and we had a chat for a little while.

It's a weird age for the kids as the 10 year old 'gets it' whilst the 8 year old doesn't

Gotta feel for the kiddies.

Is this the relative you mentioned earlier in the year when you were looking at going OS?

Yeah it is.

Was expected but I’m not sure anything really prepares the kids and I guess with the big C you never know the exact when and you kind of always hold some hope
