I have the day off but haven't penciled anything in yet.

Spend Sunday working my way through every race, in a comp at the pub where $50 gets you into a $1000 winner takes all.

Pick one in each race for the day, 3-2-1 for 1st-2nd-3rd, so Tuesday I'll be at work watching the first 7 races on my desktop then tear off to the pub by Cup time to watch the last 3 races there.

Yeah we have a show Saturday night. $104.00 a year and that gets you a horse with $1,000.00 first prize, three course meal and 6 hours of grog.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Upstairs Function room at Grange Hotel .. $110 for 3 hours of drink and finger food. There would be better value packages around, but it's a great spot with great people, so counting down the days!

Will fire up the 2019 JK Cup thread by the weekend, thats where the real prestige is ;)

Meech was controversially kicked off Thought Of That, a $4.20 chance for Saturday’s feature at Flemington, with managing owner Brae Sokolski preferring more-experienced Group 1 rider Mark Zahra.

After riding Oasis Girl to victory in race 4 on Bendigo Cup Day, Meech didn’t miss her chance to respond to Sokolski.

“It’s just one of those things. Brae’s a smart enough bloke to stick with the big guns but I hope that it gets beat,” Meech said.

“Of course things like that bother you.

“I’ve had 20 years in the racing game, Brae probably hasn’t had quite as long but I won’t let that get to me, but is a little bit disappointing.

“I know he wanted a Group 1 jockey but Mark Zahra’s had 262 rides in Group 1s and I’ve had 23 for one winner and he’s had 15.

Jockey’s need to suck it up when they get replaced on a horse.
The owners pay the bills, they can have whatever hoop on board they want.

Surprised you haven't come out in support of Michelle Payne, who got fined for her reaction to the replacement

That’s a hell of a show mate.

Heading to Derby Day Saturday. Looks like Melbourne is going to turn on the weather for us.

I have a mate who goes to a lot of race meets, both country & metropolitan.
Whenever he comes across any activists he makes a point of going up to them asking if they want to go halves in a quaddie that day
Really pisses them off.

We have collectors come through the pub on a Saturday arvo, they came and asked a mate and I for a donation and my mate says "Na, just blew 500 on number 5 in the 4th" I nearly lost it with the look he got.
