So after reading numerous conflicting rumours on here regarding Andy Otten and James Rose, does anybody actually know where these players will be in 2020?

Knoll is playing in Sydney. Brooksby will be playing in the SANFL but not for Norwood.

Will Brooksby be coming home?

he WWTFC are delighted to announce the signing of defender Pierce Seymour for the 2020 season.

The 24-year-old spent 2019 as a part of the Adelaide Crows development squad and made his SANFL Statewide Super League debut in Round 13 this year and went on the play eight of the remaining nine games including all three finals for the Crows.

Seymour then returned to his local side Payneham Norwood Union who went on the win the Adelaide Footy League Division One premiership.

Senior Coach Jade Sheedy said Seymour showed what he is capable of at League level over the back end of last season and will be a great addition to the Club in 2020.

“After coaching against Pierce in the Adelaide Footy League previously I could see he was destined to play at a higher level. To see him perform strongly in the SANFL finals series for Adelaide wasn’t a surprise to me and as soon as I got the role here at the Eagles, I was keen to get him to the Club,” said Sheedy.

“At 190cm Pierce has the ability to play on talls or smalls and is a great user of the football with a damaging left foot which will provide plenty of drive from the back half for us.”

Now having tasted League football, Seymour is keen to establish himself as a regular at League level.

“Getting the opportunity to play League football and then finals on Adelaide Oval last season was surreal. Having had that experience now, I can’t wait to get back out there again. The Eagles missed out on finals last year but there is a strong core group here and under the guidance of Jade I’m sure we will be bouncing back strongly in 2020. I can’t wait to get started,” said Seymour.

South Adelaide are excited to welcome James Rose for the 2020 season.
The former Sydney Swan lands at the Panthers following 5 seasons in the red and white after making his AFL debut in 2015.

Taken at pick 37 of the 2014 AFL Draft, Rose went on to play 14 AFL games after playing at Sturt as a junior.

The smooth mover kicked 22 goals from 13 NEAFL matches in 2018 and was at his best in the 2018 NEAFL Grand Final collecting 38 disposals and a goal.

"We're really excited to welcome James to the club, he'll be a great addition to the team" said Senior Coach Jarrad Wright

"As a player James will add some top end class to our midfield, he has elite speed and decision making and knows where the goals are."

"He will complement our already tough working midfield nicely"

"As a person his core values fit in with what are building here at South, and James will be a very good fit."

When speaking on making the move to the Panthers, Rose felt that South Adelaide was the right fit.

"I came back to Adelaide with an open mind, and after meeting with Jarrad and Neill I sparked a connection with Boof quite quickly as our values aligned"

"I'm bloody excited to contribute and looking at the list there are some fantastic leaders in Cross and Rose."

"The list is maturing at the right time and it's shaping up to be an exciting year, and I'm really keen to contribute."

We welcome James to South Adelaide and are excited to see him in action in 2020.

Thanks to Scooter Davis we have a pretty good recruit.

Always a pity though when players can't get back to their original club.

Sturt Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of former Sydney University NEAFL player, Harry Morrison.

Harry is a 20 year old, half forward who has attracted AFL interest and is a proven goalkicker at NEAFL level. Harry’s speed and agility along with superb goal sense allowed him to kick 35 goals in season 2019. Originally from Williamstown in Victoria, Harry played his junior and senior football with Old Geelong in the VAFA, before moving to Sydney University. In 2017, Harry won the Sydney University Rising Star Award.

Senior Coach Nathan Grima said, “I followed Harry closely this season and was impressed with his improvement over the year. In his first season in NEAFL Harry played predominately in the backline, however moved forward in 2019 and got better with each game he played. He kicked 21 goals in his last 7 games, including 4 in a losing final against Sydney Swans Reserves. His speed and power will add a different look to our forward line. Harry is of great character with a good work ethic so will fit in well with our group.”

We welcome Harry to the Club and we look forward to seeing him play for Sturt in Season 2020.

I don't know but I'm not sure 14 games in 5 years on an AFL list is a great advertisement for him though.

Clearly not up to your lofty standards when it comes to ex AFL recruits, but we have to work within a budget and a salary cap.
