They need to get more entertainment events other than football and cricket. The stadium is under utilised

If they charge event organisers like they do their customers then I can see why people don’t want to use it.

Always going to struggle to attract entertainment when your exposed to the elements. The size of the stadium also makes poor viewing for sports like soccer and rugby. A regular friday night SANFL fixture perhaps?

They said they had no choice due to dwindling crowd numbers.
It was in the advertiser on the weekend if anyone wants to reference it.

Good way to try and get crowd numbers back eh?
Ridiculous.

Metallicas cancellation would hurt big time. That would of made some good $$$$$$

Double headers on a saturday for SANFL would be handy and great for the comp.

Maybe the hotel will fill in the revenue/events.

Adelaide Oval being constantly booked for weddings/corporate events atm.

Also Port not losing 1 in 4 supporters in the first 5 years would assist greatly :-)

So you think 44k is the norm for port crowds. :lol: 8-}

34k is disappointing, 38k is more like where we should be at, taking into account membership numbers. If we play good footy this will be achievable.

Port Adelaide has delisted Boyd Woodcock and Riley Grundy. Both had a year to run on their two-year draftee contracts. However, Port has committed to reselecting them in the rookie draft
@AFLcomau

so why delist them :roll:

Perhaps mandatory list changes for the national draft? Grundy would need some significant improvement next year if he is to go beyond 2020.

You have to make a minimum number of list changes, West Coast have delisted 2 and will pick them back up, Brisbane the same.

Does the club need to pay out the current contract even if they re-commit and select them again?

Or have to pay them the full contracted wage or the lower rookie wage?

They would have too surely. So they effectively pay them the same $ value but move them to the rookie list.

They were only both drafted at the end of 2018 so they both still have 1 year to run on their minimum 2 year contracts you receive when you're drafted.

It's purely academic this one.

Its always a bit strange with the old delisting but promise to pick you up again, has there every been a club swoop in and pick someone up before their current club gets the chance to re-list them?

Has anyone who has been through this scenario gone on to be a success?

Youve made up the 44K claim purely to make yourself feel better lbh.

It looks like Adelaide Oval hasnt stopped fans leaving in droves which is what it was suppose to do. So Ports crowds have nothing to with time slots, stadiums weather etc... . Its purely port fans are frontrunners.

What a surprise that is.

Thanks LMA.
