I was a bit surprised Pakistan didn't pick Abbas but can see why they didn't go with him as the 3 quicks they did pick all bowled real well in the tour match against Australia A. Not sure how much impact Abbas would have on pitches that have more pace and bounce in them aswell. He has a fantastic record in his test career so far but he's only really medium fast and I feel like he bowls at a pace that would come on to the bat nicely and without any sideways movement he may not be as effective in Australia.

Cummins dismissal of Rizwan, no ball or Legal delivery lads?
I can't f**king believe it was not called a no ball, I'd be absolutely roperable and making enquiry if I was Pakistan.

And then god knows how Kettleborough didn't see/hear the nick off of Afridi's bat when he edged to Paine off Starc. That was a howler.

The issue with the no-ball call is that on field it wasn't called a no-ball, so the TV umpire needs conclusive evidence to overturn. For mine, it was as close as you can get to being a no-ball without having clear proof (ie: a bit of white line beyond the raised part of his shoe would have been conclusive).

I think it was a no ball, but I don't have an issue with it not being overturned.

Agreed the missed nick was very poor, but even more so when Paine almost didn't review it!!!!!!

Exactly and Exactly

Hard to call it a howler when Paine was hesitant about reviewing it. Howlers are reviewed IMMEDIATELY !
But i guess we are talking about Tim Paine here who cost Aust winning the Ashes series through continual blunders in regards to DRS

Agreed on both, no f**king way that wasn't a no ball. There was a clear deflection off Afridi's bat, can't fathom why Paine wasn't sure. With the lack of crowd there wouldn't have been much noise there.

I can't believe how hard it seems to let go of the ball behind the line, it's borderline cheating by trying to shorten the pitch.

I was an opening bowler for 20+ years and I doubt that I bowled more than 5 or 6 for the whole time, even then they were probably because the umpire didn't like me, it's not hard to see a line as you approach it and stop right on it or before it.

Watching it again I was thinking Paine might of just thought it was obviously out and didn't really need to appeal for it and didn't bother thinking of review because the nick was so obvious. But like Jim said Starc didn't really react either, it was bizarre.

Naseem Shah repeatedly hitting 147km/h in his first over is pretty impressive.

16 years old and sending them down. Yeah not bad, I like it and hope he really comes on in the future. Would love to see a really fast gun Pakistani fast man again.

I'd prefer a machine to call it like they do in tennis, I'd sooner see the umpire looking ahead the whole time.
