Listening to Fagan in 5AA this morning (with the Crows supporting Penbo & WIll) and he avoided the question on how it will all be funded.

Im sure this is not the only option the council have for the site, despite the Crows making out they are the good guys here.

It's a public park, I walk around it regularly, but it is leased to the PAFC by the Port Enfield Council, we have done so since 1881 after we first played a game there in 1880. At the time it was 10 shillings a year.

I don't mind the crows plans for the site. If done well and they make sure of a landscape architect as well then this could really be a great development of an old facility.

As long as the community get something out of it which I think it looks that way. Then I don't have an issue with it.

The 15mil, well you couldn't give that to the ACC as they'll just **** it up and burn through it on bullshit.

However, it's open to public consultation now so let the real battle begin.....

My understanding is the PAFC own some land around the oval, including the one where their facility is

I was with Adelaide City Council for a meeting this morning & we got onto the topic of the Crows & they said that it will go ahead, the only hurdle they have at the moment is cutting the trees down that they need to, to extend the field to the MCG size. I know on a previous project of ours in the city, we were cutting a few trees down & there was a protester that tied herself to some of the trees at the time

I imagine the North Adelaide Parklands mob wont make it easy for them and even when they do proceed with it Im sure they will walk their dogs through the middle of training reminding them that they have full public access to the facilities!

Well they don't do that at the parklands where Pultney, CBC, Prince Alfred, St Peters, Adelaide High and Adelaide Uni train and play. Or the numerous cricket, soccer, touch football, bowls, petanque, horse agistment, riding school, athletics, and tiddlewinks facilities are either.

It amuses me seeing Adelaide United train in Elizabeth, their cars just don't quite fit in to the surroundings.

Yep, the council wanted to take control of some of the seating in the stands on game day to raise some monies and the remainder would be split between the club and the SANFL. I think there was marches on the council chambers at the time.

That protester wasn’t she a former Olympic athlete or was that former athlete threatening to do it.
