The bad thing with Flaggy at moment is with the fairways, once they run down the slope into the trees etc the ball doesnt stop!!!

They had a pump in a dam that broke down. But thats all fixed so the fairwas should start improving soon

We are there on the 15th Dec so hopefully back up to scratch by then

They are going to take all summer to get right IMO, I think they are weary of using too much water early in the dry season, after running out last season.

Still Id much rather them look after the greens, which is what they are doing.

Was only looking at that over the weekend for our trip next year, what did it cost?

I reckon its $230aud to play plus $60 for club hire and you need to tip your caddy minimum $20.
If your a member at a course with a Oncourse shop or know one, speak to them as I got an introduced price, Cost me $170 and that included clubs and range balls. The pro at my club hooked me up with that.
Other option is there is a aussie golf club over there that you can play with. think they are called Raflles, they play different courses each week. from memory you can usually get a round for approx $100 plus club hire if you play with them. And you play in a comp for some cash aswell

Yesterday was one of the better rounds despite stuffing up the par 3rd....for a wipe...

Driving was quite good  hit it really solidly.
Ended up with 36pts.

Next week is Stroke, watch the game desert me

Todays effort.
Quite happy overall.
The blemish on 14th was creaming my 7i into the pine behind the green...
And the 9th (18th) hit a draw, thought it had cleared the top branches down the right, but couldnt find it anywhere...ffs

Beautiful day up at Mt Osmond.

Played ok, but scrambled around the course for an 83 and nett 68.

Putting on the greens was hit n miss though given the condition of them.
Always love playing up there
Played with some young lads who just starting out. Apparently they had a good deal up there and those 2 with a heap of their mates signed up.Image

Flew around the Vines in a tick over 3hrs this morning.

Ball striking was solid.
Driving was goood
Putting was good for me. The dewy greens made it tricky to judge pace.
Costly error on the 13th, on my downswing, i realised that wasnt my ball i was about to hit. So a 5 turned to 7.
So many balls left out there from the Ambrose day yesterday.
Ended up with 34.

Back down to 13.2

Dropped 2 shots last 3 rounds or so.

Got the one length now working back to a little draw shape!
Took some time, but getting there and still a work in progress.
The 5i needs some viagra to get airborne, however, I did think of leaving it out the bag. But it comes in very very handy the worm burners.
Especially from the trees, punching out, or need to go under trees etc.

Beautiful
Refreshing

What a pleasant morning to go for a stroll

Course is in great condition
Greenkeepers+committee have a good understanding of how to prepare and nurture the course through summer.
Fairways are lush and greens also quite lush, let them grow a bit in preparation for the hot week we just had.
So putting wasnt that bad given they were a bit slower than normal, had numerous just sit or roll over edge...
Driver behaved itself, cracking effort on the 9th
Short game around the greens was fair, a few times the first bounce was in the fringe which just killed it... :(
Ended up with 34pts/87 off the stick which I'll happily take.

Dropped 2.8 shots over last 5 or so weeks. Back to 13 after a slump and going through a rocky start to my relationship with the one length!
We are experiencing happier days, although like everything the clubs still have some work to do to make me truly happy!!!
Hopefully the upwards or is it downwards trajectory continues of the handicap!

Ducked out this morning.
Needed to walk off the Xmas cheer!
Started shakily on 1st. Walked away with a Par...25ft helped..
2nd hit a high draw, that drew a little too far and think it got caught up in the weeds near water. Just take a drop and keep moving
From there the game seemed to go along quite nicely.
17pts on front 9.

Back 9 was fairly solid. Apart from a wipe on Par 3- 14th. Put my 8i a tad too long and on top of the surrounding mounds...it defied gravity....
17 on back and finished with 34.

Now on bed, aircon, plus aircon plus fan watching cricket, trying to recover for tomorrow morning
