It should be the SANFL like they did for Port.

It amuses me seeing Adelaide United train in Elizabeth, their cars just don't quite fit in to the surroundings.

Anything other than a commodore looks out of place out there.

Well they don't do that at the parklands where Pultney, CBC, Prince Alfred, St Peters, Adelaide High and Adelaide Uni train and play. Or the numerous cricket, soccer, touch football, bowls, petanque, horse agistment, riding school, athletics, and tiddlewinks facilities are either.

Crows are looking to establish the same business model as Richmond have with Aligned Leisure.

https://alignedleisure.com.au/leisure-m ... hilosophy/

Depending on what the management model of the facility looks like it could be a very profitable little site for the Crows as well as being a great walking, living, thriving marketing billboard for the club.

Richmond have had a lot of success stepping into the health and fitnes/sports and recreation management game and are now managing 4 sites across Victoria. It wouldn't be making the same money as pokies did but much a more relevant space for a football club to working in and as mentioned gives them huge access to database of communities well and truly into the 1000's, also gives them an oppurtunity to broaden and widen their reach rather than just the Richmond suburb.

They mangage Council owned facilities such as Caridinia Leisure and open the pool according to the Councils Management contract. If there was the public demand for the pool to be open longer hours im sure they would. Not all pools open all day everyday or have the demand that requires such opening hours.

A site like the Adelaide Aquatic Centre would have a pool available for the public at all times you would think, would be surprised if Council didnt stipulate that as part of the facility upgarde/redevelopment.

Aligned Lesiure (100% owned subsidiary of Richmond FC) list of facilities managed includes:

Mildura Aquatic Centre
Cardinia Leisure
Wodonga Sports & Leisure Centre
Albury Wodonga Aquatic Centre
Eltham Leisure Centre

Didn't want to bring it to anyone's notice. Think I also missed 2 golf courses, cycling track, tree climbing and 4 very well patronised camping spots.

Don't the Crows already operate a small scale of this at their current facility? I'm sure I've read somewhere that their gym is open to the public

Couldnt honestly tell you. I would think the old Adelaide Aquatic site would be prime location and if done correctly could rival SAALC and be on par with Next Generation for those looking for an aquatic facility.

If they are already doing this on a small scale i imagine its a business decision to leave the gym open to recoup some of the running costs for such a facility. Any facilities with a pool are money pits unless their mega facilities like SAALC, the Arc, Aquadome, Parks Rec etc.

The Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of experienced sports administrator Adam Kelly to the role of Head of Football.

Kelly has extensive leadership and strategic and operational management experience, and joins the Crows after more than five years at the South Australian National Football League where he has been General Manager - Football.

The 45-year-old has previously served as CEO of East Fremantle Football Club, as well as CEO of Country Racing Victoria’s Murray Mallee Racing.

He will be part of Adelaide’s Executive management team and oversee all aspects of the Club’s football operations when he officially starts early in the New Year.

Crows CEO Andrew Fagan said Kelly was the standout candidate after a lengthy recruitment and due diligence process, adding that he had a proven record of positively influencing both performance and the environment in which he operates.

“Adam is a values driven leader who has clearly demonstrated that he can positively influence large teams of people in both a club and governing body environment. This was critically important to us,” Fagan said.

“While undertaking our due diligence, it was evident he takes an organisation-first approach to decision making and also has a deep understanding of the necessary components required to succeed in this role.

“We were also impressed with his long-term commitment to learning and personal development, which he has demonstrated through the completion of a Master of Business Administration and attendance at Harvard University.

“He has also undertaken AFL-specific education such as Football Operations and List Management, and Executive Leadership programs.

“Importantly, we feel his combination of personal qualities, skills, qualifications and experiences are well suited to the football program and environment we are developing under a new senior coach.”

Kelly said it was a privilege to be appointed to the role and a series of recent meetings with key Crows representatives had given him an insight into the positivity within the Club.

“The further I went into the recruitment process the eagerness grew as a result of being able to interact with numerous people, all of whom impressed me with their passion, drive and desire to take the Club forward,” Kelly said.

“I am also looking forward with great anticipation to immersing myself in the Club in the New Year, getting across all elements of the football program and starting to build relationships with my colleagues, as well as the players in our men’s and women’s teams.”

According to a SANFL official I spoke with about a month ago, this was always likely to happen and all SANFL clubs are pretty happy he's gone. To say he's not particularly well rated is a bit of an understatement.
