They can only administer up to 24 hours of antibiotics in one hit and it’s a 30 hour drive without stops.
They don’t want SA doctors to mess about with what they are doing up here as everyone is in the same page as each other up here.
This hospital is apparently the best in the country at dealing with his condition and they think it’s in his best interest to stay put and let them fix him.

We will be more than likely allowed to move out of the hospital next week and get a nurse to come around daily and for me to do a crash course in treating him in between.

shit shit shit.

you must have been a really shit bloke in a past life LM. the universe just seems to be out to get you lately.

do you guys need anything up there? we can send a care package, fruit chocs, west end draught, some old editions of the advertiser.....

It’s not ideal but we’ve just gotta accept the umpires decision, hearing him on the phone to his mum broke my heart and just FaceTiming my wife then certainly pulled at the heart strings.
Once we move into an apartment or something next week hopefully I can get the fun police up here for a few days.

Cheers Wedgie, not the best Christmas Day we’ve had but did have a surprise visit from a mate I haven’t seen for a long time, it made us happy, a big Maori bloke who drove down from Brisbane and played some songs on his ukulele, he even taught my lad a few chords and gave him the ukulele to practice.
I hope you and your family have had a great day!

A family that lost their house at Woodside in the hills fires has now lost their wilderness retreat business in Kangaroo Island fires, utterly devastating luck.

Why are people insisting on staying behind to defend? Feel for everyone else that their decision impacts, esp if it goes wrong...

If there weren't animals involved, they probably would've fled.

Hopefully they've taken some lessons from Mogo and they can keep the park (and all the critters) safe

Bit sad that my Port Adelaide supporter mate at the pub who calls himself a history boffin had no idea what I was talking about when I wore my Notre Dame hat to the pub tonight (and he was wearing a Port Adelaide Magpies hat, RIP) when I said how it was a coincidence that we were both wearing hats with the same theme songs. He refused to acknowledge the now defunct original PAFC stole their song from South Melbourne who stole it from Notre Dame.

Cheer, cheer for Old Notre Dame,
Wake up the echoes cheering her name,
Send a volley cheer on high,
Shake down the thunder from the sky!
What though the odds be great or small,
Old Notre Dame will win over all,
While her loyal sons are marching
Onward to victory!

In a similar vein I was talking footy with a port mate (yes, him) at the pub tonight, and he couldn't remember who won the flag in '56. What has it come to, when port diehards no longer remember the fundamental things?
