Smith looking to score early, maybe him and Wade will look to accelerate?

Send in Starc or Cummins next

Whole entire reason why we are batting now is to properly freshen up and prepare the pace guys for their onslaught tomorrow. Defeats the purpose if they come out tonight.

Why?

Quick runs.
Batting practice.
Save Head and rest him for the 3rd test.

That would be stupid decision to send out the bowlers to do the batsmen's job and you never save a batsman for the next match, if anything you protect your bowlers and have them not bat at all. Plus Head just made 100 yesterday, why wouldn't he be out in the middle wanting to make more runs?

Starc barely bowled.
I’m sure he’d love a hit.

Personally I’d rather watch Starc find the boundaries than watch this currently.
I would have put them back in as well.
We’d have them 6 fa by now.

It’s a 5 day test FFS!
Keep the mugs out there for an hour or so tomorrow and totally demoralise them

Of course not but don’t see why everyone wants it to finish on day 3. We have a chance to grind them into the dust and destroy them. I couldn’t care less if we batted until lunch tomorrow and got 600 infront

I think winning a test in 3 days would destroy their confidence as well.

CA would want a full day’s play tomorrow. Over 40,000 at a minimum of $30 a ticket equates to a fair amount of dollars in the kitty

Boult confirmed broken knuckle thanks to Starc and will return home at the end of the test. NZ looking to send out a replacement for Sydney

Henry will play next Test. Hopefully Astle too. Santner is a waste of space at the moment.

And give our bowlers more of a break between tests, it’s not as though we have a history of bowlers breaking down.

Santner will end up being a specialist 12th man, his fielding is as good as anyone’s.

Another reason why we should’ve enforced the follow on, Smith is Wagner’s bitch and the rest of the world is rubbing their hands together.
This must’ve been a directive from CA to keep the game going longer, only Warner and Marnus would’ve wanted to bat again.

I don’t get why we don’t enforce the follow on anymore.
While you have your opponents down and out, keep it that way and finish them.

Wagner has the' wood' on Smith
I can sort of agree with this so far in the short term
One if the reasons why Wagner ends up with Smiths wicket, is partially to do with the other NZ bowlers not being good enough to get Smiths wicket

It’s Smith getting himself out to Wagner rather than Wagner getting Smith out (except) the one wicket inPerth where caught at slip)

Wagner is setting the field and bowling to that field.
It does appear that Smith is falling to that trap every time.
Got to give Wagner credit as well.
